When my husband tore open our High Efficiency Drier, he found what he called the "professional's handbook" inside the guts of the unit. Apparently there is the homeowner's guide AND there's the professional's guide. Of course, this guide specifically says not to attempt repairs or replace parts unless you're an expert. Well my husband is a retired mechanic who operates and rebuilds heavy equipment, so we decided to take the risk. I'm glad we did. He was able to find that this cheap little fuse is the culprit to our drier no longer wanting to start. Well, that and the padded insert to my daughter's training bra that somehow found it's way into overheating the machine. I'm not sure what all took place really, but my daughter and I were looking for that padding for a while. :) Once he replaced the fuse, we were back in business. I'm happy to report that our drier has been working for at least a month now with no issues.

I'd suggest checking this before considering buying a control board! My older Whirpool Duet dryer was stuck in "sensing" mode and most people said they had to replace the control board. One guy said it ended up being the thermal fuse, so I checked it first and that was the issue! To check it on a Duet - unplug the dryer, take the two screws off of the lower panel and remove it. The thermal fuse is the one with two blue wires on it - pull the wires off the fuse and plug each end into the blades of a 20 amp car fuse. Plug the dryer back in and try it, if it works the thermal fuse is the problem. Replace it

Dryer would not heat due to a previous blockage in the exhaust channel. Over temp sensor tripped and shut everything down. Fairly easy to troubleshoot and even easier to install. Dryer running happily now.In this case it was a dryer sheet (I do not use them) that had located itself covering the outlet. Probably a chance in a million that it'd ever happen.

Price was right but as an aftermarket replacement part, the screw holes didn’t align perfectly. This made it difficult to get the fuse fully seated on the housing.Unfortunately after being without the dryer, you do what you have to do to make it work.

Great Price and works just fine. Thanks to google and amazon, I'm a regular appliance repair man! Very easy to replace this thermal fuse. I also replaced the Thermistor because they're both inexpensive here on amazon and located right next to each other on the dryer. The dryer would start and run for maybe 2 min and shut itself off with an err 1. a quick google search led me to replacing the thermal fuse and so far so good!

Once I figured out how to open up and check the old fuse (not working), installing this was a breeze. Took about 3 minutes total. So far, the dryer has worked perfectly—two weeks and counting. I would think this fuse is well worth trying out if it looks EXACTLY like the fuse your dryer is now using.

Do not attempt to replace any part of your dryer unless you totally understand or are trained to work with high voltage. This thermal fuse requires a full disassembly of the dryer to replace. Before taking on this project, make sure you know know all safety requirements needed.

I installed one of these on my 19-year old Kenmore dryer a few months ago, but the fuse recently - January, 2019 - melted and the dryer again stopped operating. It is the exact fit, even with the blade terminals lined up as the OEM part was. I am not sure if I had an issue with the dryer exhaust, but I went in and cleaned out everything from the fan downstream, so we'll see how this one does.

Perfect fit, did what was expected. Happy to have replacement parts that are easy to purchase to save us money on replacing the whole dryer and keeping it out of the landfill.
