So far, so good
I still have some traditional (incandescent) Christmas Tree lights but have struggled to find a decent tester for the 2.5v bulbs in the '100' strings. My old tester uses a 9 volt battery which is too much for the 2.5V bulbs. Then I remembered that as a child, we used to test the bulbs using a 6 volt battery. The 'springy' tops are great for making a good connection with the connections on the bulb. I still use a 22 Ohm dropping resistor to be on the safe side (but that is another story). There is also the issue of Zinc Chloride vs Zinc Carbon batteries. The former is better for torches as they have a longer life and steadier output voltage but they are usually more expensive. Sometimes Zinc Chloride batteries are labelled as 'Heavy Duty' but that is a rather subjective term. As this battery was only going to be used in December each year, I wanted a decent shelf life so after looking around, I decided to try the Draper 56429. There is nothing on the battery to indicate whether it is actually Zinc Chloride but it is clearly marked 'Heavy Duty'.Anyway, I measured the voltage with no load at 6.3V. This dropped to a steady 5.6V with a 600ma (0.6A) load but I only tested this for about 10 seconds. A 5 second short circuit test measured 5 Amps which seems good although I don't know very much about batteries. So, this battery is as described and it should work well in a lantern but I wish it clearly stated on the outside whether it is Zinc Carbon or Zinc Chloride. For the moment, at least, I have identified all the faulty bulbs and my old style light strings are working again. As with all my reviews, I will update this review if I encounter any problems

Waste of money
Received this item and when I put it in my torch it did not work. I checked the voltage ona voltameter and it was 5.6, so no way was it going to light up my torch.

True heavy duty giving full power
A true heavy duty 6v batteryCheaper alternatives just didn't give enough power to provide a full powered beam from my lattern torch.I was unsure paying the extra would actually make a difference but I was glad to see that I was again getting a full powered beam from this Draper battery. Will stick to this in future.

All good for now
Battery wrapped up all nice, fitted as expected. Powers the huge floodlight torch like the original did before it died.I will update the review once i know how long the battery lasts.

The service is good
The first battery was faulty , when I reported it , there was no delay a replacement was sent which worked fine . That's service !

Flat, no charge in it.
This was a spare battery for my lantern torch and was kept unopened until it was needed. On opening I discovered it was flat. Being a Draper battery I expected better.
