Great vocal quality
The AKG C520 has a 2.5 m (approx.) cable and connects directly to the XLR input of a mixing desk, amp etc. It's great for situations where you require good separation between the vocalist and the background, such as a keyboard player etc. It has a surprisingly good vocal quality and is a very useful addition to any home studio or live performance gear.

Perfect for Saxophone
I have been using this microphone for over years now and never had a problem. The quality is excellent for on-stage use. Playing both Alto and Tenor I swap between the two a number of times every gig, The clip has not shown any sign of weakness with age.

A Quality mic
I play guitar and sing also play lead bits and fillers whilst singing. If was awkward when singing into a mike on a mikestand this gives me more freedom as I can now sing and look at what I'm doing when required. Its meant to fit at the corner of your mouth not in front. You can adjust the flex mic part to get it there if need be.Tested Turning the mike by hand towards my mouth,it gives you more bass but it's a bit overpowering. I would say careful EQ of the mike is important because it's not full on your face.I found the headset to be an ok fit bit of getting used to it's like wearing specs for the first time.Mine stays at the corner of my mouth when my head is straight and when I look down that suits me.When I raise my head in an upward direction it moves from the corner and the sound fades. The not so good bits.Because it's fixed you can't get the same inflection vocally when you move closer and come away from a fixed mike. You always have to switch it off when bending down to adjust my pedal board settings or it squeals via the monitor. And has to be switched of when speaking to band members during the performance.I have a fixed mike as a backup and use this on songs I can play without looking at my fret board.Akg mikes are the best and this one is up there.Spend time with it to get the positioning and the sound and you have so much freedom to move about.Last thing I don't use the 1" wind foam thing ,it looks hidiuos and it sounds ok without.

none compatible with any equipment
bought this in hope I could use with my accordion however upon arrival I found it not only had no form of power supply but also no adapter of any form to allow connection to any power supply or equipment all it came with was some tacky plastic rubbish and a very thin micro-xlr lead which was completely useless returning for a full refund

Good
This was my second attempt at a clip-on mic for sax.Sound is ok, clip sufficient to hold mic in place and has the feel of a quality bit of kit.So, more expensive than some - but worth it.I also needed to research the difference between versions:C519M is the one with a long-ish cable and a normal XLR adaptor for 48V phantom power.C519ML is the one with a short mini-xlr cable and a radio adaptor plate.

Does the job a treat
I added this to an AKG radio pack I already had and, even though it is supposed to be powered (I didn't realise that until it arrived) it works fine for my backing vox through the band's P.A.
