Working on Win11x64
Bought initially to connect a USB bike computer (that is difficult to dismount/re-mount from my bike) while the bike is racked up in our garage. That happens to be where our router is installed too, so easy to connect a short Cat5e cable from the router to this unit and a USB cable (A-to-micro-B) from there to the bike.Although StarTech tech support stated Win10 & 11 are not supported, their downloaded driver software contains a driver folder for Win10 that installed and is working fine on my Win11 PC without hacks, whereas their supposed standard driver installed but then didn't work. (NB. This software apparently searches for the unit by MAC address range, so ignores any IP address you may assign, but you can still assign one and ping it to confirm network connectivity.)After two months daily use, every day but once it has found the unit immediately upon launching the software and successfully connected when clicked, allowing me to upload/re-configure the bike computer from my PC without dismounting it and exactly as if it were connected to a PC USB port. The one time it didn't immediately find the unit, a PC reboot solved the problem, suggesting the issue was with the PC's USB driver stack, not the unit/firmware.I can't comment much on long-term connection stability (which other reviews have criticised) because my usage rarely needs it connected for more than 20 minutes before and after a ride, but whenever I have inadvertently left it connected after finishing it still seems to be connected several hours later. It also seems to be providing bus-power to re-charge the bike computer, although this also isn't supposed to be a feature of the unit.

Awful..! Buy a TL-PS310U instead...
You get only ONE USB device behind this server.Bought it to update to USB2.0/Gigabit and to replacemy TL-PS310U. Neither of my 2 devices on the USBport work, simply because they are behind a USB hub.Description says nothing about this, but clearly statesthat you can "connect your USB2.0 Peripheral(s)".For that, please read "USB2.0 Peripheral". Bothwork fine on the TP-Link, so back to that for me...

Krellboy's Silex SX-DS-4000U2 vs Startech Gigabit USB over IP
The startech product DOES support isochronous devices, and performs better than the silex but beware the limitations.Ive tested with a 300 Mbps wireless connection and wired 1Gb connection results as followsHi-Speed USB video capture cards================================video will not work at all with the SX-DS-4000U2 only loads the audio driverswill work with the startech device provided you use a wired ethernet connection but even then it stutters making it unusable.DSI pro III and II astronomy cameras====================================Pro II - will work with both devicesPro III - the Silex product crops the video output both on wired and wireless rendering Silex unusablePro III - the Startech product shows some artifacts in wireless mode but works fine with a wired connectionIf the Startech device is powered on at the same time as the DHCP server the startech always uses its default ip address even though its configured to use DHCP.Its a pain to have to reboot the device server after the DHCP server has powered upand as has been commented it wont work with hubs but then if you want to use hubs seemlessly digi's USB anywhere 5 is the bee's knees.

Flakey, unreliable and awkward.
The interface for the software is appalling, it seems to be unable to maintain a reliable connection when it does find it on the network and slow.

Unreliable
Unreliable as per other reviews. The device requires power cycling after a short time and cannot stay connected to the network.

Doesn't work
It's a shame it doesn't work with win 11 , crashes the pc , should be on sale really unless they update it, it's a shame, plus can't configure via the interface

Works with Windows 11
Download the file "[elite em3868m1] usb over ip device server.zip" from Startech.com and open the folder "Previous Driver Version". There you will find a "Windows Vista - 10" folder and compatible .exe installer. However, my application requires the drive to be network browseable using \\192.168.x.x\sharename by multiple clients at the same time. You can only see the drive if you connect to it using the software and it is only available to one client at a time.
