Leave it on long enough and it works!
This adhesive remover works very well AS LONG AS it is left on the surface long enough! In my case, I was removing water-based carpet glue from concreteโthe glue was actually holding the felt padding under the carpet. After ripping up the felt, the concrete floor looked in some places like Bigfoot's hairy back! With my 1st effort, I used a paint roller to spread the glop pretty thick and left it for maybe four hours. It made scrapping much more effective. But I had to buy two more jugs to complete the entire basement floor. (The 2nd round I left the glop on for 6+ hours.) FYI: Being a little anal retentive, after scraping and cleaning off the felt and glop, I used HOT water and a scrub brush on my hands and knees to fully strip the concrete. Without this product, I would not have been able to do it! It removed 92% of the glue; the hot water and brush did the rest. *Put a pillow or padding under your knees if you go this route! There is a scent to the remover. Initially it was a bit overpowering, though not totally unpleasant, but it didn't make me think I was being poisoned by dangerous fumes. But if you can ventilate... our basement has two small windows so I vented with a fan for the entire project. The product arrived unopened with no leaking. In short, this product worked. Just leave it on longer than you are patient for!

Max strip floor adhesive remover
I tried so many other things to get the glue off the unsealed concrete after taking up a carpet. This was the only one that worked and didn't leave a greasey mess behind (didn't want it to be absorbed into the concrete). I did anywhere from a foot to 3 ft at a time, Let it set at least a half hour, sometimes an hr, then scrapped it off several times. Then (don't know if I should have done the following, but it did fine for me) I used warm water and Dawn soap and scrubbed the area several times with a scrub brush, them wiped that off as best I could, Used old towel/rag to wash with same Dawn and water mix til rag wasn't bringing up much grime. Wiped it up. Repeated the above with Regular Vinegar and Water, then with just water. Took along time, but it seems to have worked fine. Then Sealed the concrete. Can't say it enough, this Max strip floor adhesive remover worked!

Does not work as advertised
Does not remove carpet adhesive as advertised, even when the instructions are followed properly. Unable to get a refund unless we returned a full container! How are we supposed to do that? Request full refund!

IT WORKS, buy it!
I was hesitant to buy this product due to the cost and having less than 1000 reviews. I am glad I went through the purchase because IT WORKS! After pulling of our 1950's outdoor rug, what was under it was brown adhesive residue. Before I could repaint it I had to remove the glue but didn't know what to use. After much research, I came across this product. It's amazing, I left it on for 1-2 hrs after brushing it on with a paint brush. I then took my 4 inch scraper and was amazed at how easy the adhesive came off. Don't think about it twice, make the purchase its worth the price!

Didn't work well for my project
This product was a disappointment for what I needed it for. But it might work for someone else. Just didn't work for me.

Works Well But Hard DIY
It worked well removing the old cardboard linoleum back and mastic from my old fir wood floor. It spreads easily with a brush. I had to leave it on overnight and rewet the areas with a spray bottle before scraping. I found it best to work on a square yard sized area at a time because of the fumes. It has a smell like strong Windex. I was doing this in the late fall with a closed house. It's probably best to do this project when you can up open the windows for days. Be sure to shake the bottle well and apply the liquid gel generously. A stiff scraper and a wire brush will make the removal go faster. A cheap mop and a bunch of cheap car towels are handy for the water clean-up. As a DIY, I would rate this as Hard due to labor. If I had a lot of floor area to do, I would hire someone.

It takes effort and is messy to use but it will do the job.
I used this remover on CARPET TAPE residue that was on a painted surface. The remover was allowed to sit for the half hour required in the directions. NEARLY all the glue came up with the remover...a sticky film remained. Rather than reapply the remover I chose to use Goo Gone to remove the remaining FILM of glue because it worked well and I didn't like the mess of the remover. (The internet recommended Goo Gone for the entire job, but I tried it and it didn't work. That's why I bought this product.) Just know this is not an easy process. It's rather messy so have a lot of rags handy. As the remover lifts the glue it turns into a kind of jelly that is still sticky and gooey. I used a paint scraper to lift the jelly onto a rag so I could dispose of it that way. Newspaper works too.
