This Gland Packing Rope is a high-performance sealing solution made from air-blown glass fibre and graphite, designed for a wide range of industrial applications. Ideal for replacing glands on taps.
Was slightly larger than expected, but found it easy to shred. So shredded it into smaller diameter lengths and repacked a dripping stop tap gland. Worked a treat.

3mm packing worked for my 2" valve
used about 50mm of this 3mm packing to fix a leak on an old 2" gate valve, polished the stem then fitted cord and tightened up, result - a perfect fix

So much easier and safer than asbestos
Easy to pack into the stuffing-box and seems to be nicely watertight.
