Excellent Solution for My Church Christmas Play
I have been responsible for a church youth Christmas play for the past 13 years and have had terrible sound for my actors because the church will let me use their 2 wireless mikes but will not allow me to turn up the volume in the system to hear the kids. The lavalier mikes they have don't position well or pick up the kids' voices. I bought this system a week before this year's play and it was perfect. It worked right out of the box just the way it was described and the main compliment heard from over 500 people who attended, aside from the quality of the kids' performances, was how great it was to finally hear them. A few things---the photo of the products does not show that it does include the plug-in power adapter and a pigtail line to connect the system to a sound board---I expected I'd have to buy those somewhere here but when it came they were part of it. I connected it to a port in the choir area soundboard that feeds into the locked sound tower that controls the church's wireless mikes and the audio feed ran through that into the churtch speaker system. It was clear, there was no interference between channels and I could adjust the sound of all 8 mikes by using the soundboard volume control for the port into which I connected the Pyle wireless system as well as adjust all 8 mikes independently of each other. The system comes with each transmitter programmed to a different frequency so you do not have to program them yourself. Just connect the Pyle system to a soundboard, turn it on and swith on a transmitter and it worked. We used the boom mikes because putting the mike in front of a kid's mouth really picks up their voice---much better than a lavalier on their collar below their neck. My brother worked as a professional soundman in motion pictures and TV for over 40 years and has an Oscar and several Emmjys to his credit and he came to the play and was blown away by this system. He said he has been on a set with thousand dollar wireless pack & mike systems that have not worked as simply and well as this. He particularly liked that the wire between the headset and the transmitter pack was cloth coated and not plastic and said that will prevent premature wearing of that line as well as prevent noise transfer in the event someone touches it while the mike is in use. He also liked that the line screws into the transmitter rather than simply plugging in as that keeps an inadvertent separation from occurring during performance. In contrast to the churtch's "professional" wireless transmitters, the Pyle system transmitters are very lightweight and the kids managed it well. The weight of the church units resulted in a lot of dropping and the plastic ones are ideal. The system came very well boxed and that will be a great place to store the components tyhroughout the year uintil we need it next year. If you need to get up to 8 kids miked for sound for this kind of event I wholeheartedly endorse this product and wish I had found it years ago.

great price point & great sound quality
1at off, let me say, This is te 1st time I've ever written a review for any product I've ever purchased. So, with that being said, let me tell you................I bought my Pyle unit in Oct. 2013 for our Church youth to do the 2013 Christmas Play. (ages 8 through 18 with a few adult parts needed too) The headsets held up rather well and didn't appear any worse for wear, considering the kids ages and all .We were totally surprised that it would work so well. Was actually able to walk into the back of the Baptistery and around the back hall and out the other door with no signal loss. Although we went through at least 2 sets of batteries ( mostly because we were practicing so much) but the quality of sound was rather good for what we were using it for.The church is a mortar and brick structure and we never experienced any outside signal interference. The church seats about 150 or so people. In addition, we're now using it for a High School show that my daughter is singing in. This auditorium seats about 600 or more and the headsets are performing rather well. We've had one issue so far and that is one of the transmitters isn't working, but that is being repaired or replaced as I write this review. We're even using a Fender 150 PA to power the unit with no trouble.Would I recommend this Pyle Pro PDWM8900 to anyone? That answer is an absolute yes! I've even considered getting a 2nd one, ( if I knew for sure that the frequencies wouldn't compete between the units) so I could theoretically have as many as 16 people performing at the same time. If i find out that this something they can offer me, I'll let ya know.

I got what I paid for
Good news: It was on "sale" for about the price of one "tour grade" mic (minus the body pack and receiver). All the parts are there. Users generally like the light weight of the headsets. Having 8 units is a lot of "spare parts" for our system (usually no more than 2 speakers). Bad news: they didn't all work. So far, I've found one intermittent headset mic., and I have only tested 4. There is no AGC (Auto gain control), so the person on the board must be prepared for feedback and silence (a real issue with people who freq. readjust the position of the mic, as well). My next thing is to use contact cleaner on the mic plugs to try to dispose of intermittent contact causing static and drop-outs. Conclusions: this will hold us over until we can afford "tour grade". It is flexible enough to include more than 1 speaker -- multiple singers may be an issue, though.Update: I was faced with the unthinkable -- 2 questionable lines of the old sound board. This compounded the issue of line-of-sight placement of the receiver (It seems the units don't like having 1912 vintage reinforced concrete between them). Those issues dealt with, the units work fine.

Not Very Happy...Would NOT purchase again
Not very happy with these mics. You get what you pay for. The first time I used them, one of them did not work right out of the box. One of the mics broke too. This is the SECOND time I took it out of the box to use, as I "thought" I could use them for our school plays, and now another one does not work.No sound. Nothing. Nadda. They cut in and out. Very annoying. I would NEVER purchase these again. So sorry.

Did what I needed it to do.
This product performed better than expected. I had two other VHF mics that I was worried it would clash with but they didn't so I had more than expected. The only odd thing about them was how you pushed the mic plug into the battery pack and then had to screw it in. It secured the plug so that it wouldn't pull out, but I guess I was expecting a different connection type. It also caused the wire to twist up obviously.Although I didn't have issues with the antena, I do agree with other comments that they need to be beefed up. It wouldn't take much to pull one of the sections out of the other. Would rubber ones work or are those only for UHF?
