The perfect solution for apartment living!
I've always loved feeding the birds through the winter using a bird table and a feeder, but when I moved to an apartment with a juliet balcony, I was really disappointed that I wouldn't get to carry on.I had a quick Google and it brought me here.I purchased the 'plus' version with the additional side holders, but as my main customers were Starlings who after a few bevvies, got rather rowdy and start throwing fat balls at the neighbours downstairs, I had to leave those extra attachments off and just use the hanging cage for the balls.Have to say, after nearly a years use, I've been really impressed with this. The suction pads are fantastic! The feeder has stayed in place throughout storms Doris, Ophelia, and Brian, even though I use the safety string, it hasn't been needed once. The feeding compartment itself is separate to the part which sticks to your window, it just slots in place and is easy to remove when it needs cleaning. There is also a full roof, which doesn't help when there's horizontal rain, but the feeder does have handy draining holes in the corners, so the food section doesn't end up as a bath with food spilling out everywhere. It did take a while for the birds to discover this when I first bought it, but now they know, they're regular visitors, although the young Starlings didn't quite get the hang at first and decided to settle down and nap in there instead! My only complaint with this would be the water compartment, it's a shame it's not a separate detachable one as it gets dirty a lot quicker than the food section does. But other than that, this really is a great feeder and has given me hours of entertainment watching the birds.

This is an excellent little window feeder
This is an excellent little window feeder. I deliberately went for a small feeder as I didn't want to encourage any of the pigeons and doves which frequent the area my house is in (mostly small commercial buildings and car parks).I knew it might take a long wait before any of the smaller birds (which I can hear twittering in the trees and shrubs 50-100 feet away) noticed the feeder, and came to investigate. In the hope of speeding that up, after a week of seeing no signs of any birds noticing the feeder, I bought an artificial sprig of berries and (having ensured the berries were firmly attached and not easy to remove) wedged it between the feeder and the window glass - like a bird "Cafe open" sign.Within 24 hours, I had my first (and so far only) visitor. I was a bit taken aback though - it was a magpie! I would have thought it would be too big for the feeder, but they're resourceful and intelligent, and this bird has managed it. He/she now visits several times each morning and evening, and yesterday, even brought a friend along. The remarkable thing is, the suckers show no signs of losing their grip on the window - the feeder is still very firmly attached, which is impressive, given the size of the visitor! (I've attached a photo - abysmal quality I know, but it was taken in a hurry from the far side of the room.)No feeder can magic up birds where there aren't any, or speed up the process of attracting their attention if they don't usually come very close, but if and when one or more feathered friends do decide to visit, this feeder fits the bill admirably!

Waste of money
I was really disappointed. We order them for our pool, the tablets are tiny, there are no instructions on how many to put so a real waste of money!

Great feeder and love the little added extras on this one.
This is the second Meripac Window Feeder we have bought. The first was ruined by large greedy birds trying to muscle in on the food, which in time caused the top part of the feeder (which was not secured with the string) to fall to the ground and break. We had it on a long side kitchen window with the string secured as instructed and fed through horizontally and wrapped around the handle of the window. We found it annoying in the end, as we had to fiddle with the string before we could open the window in a hurry (to evict buzzy creatures!!).However, I decided to experiment with this one. I assembled the feeder as instructed, apart from the string! This time I moved the feeder to the middle section of our window, which only has a small opening window at the top. After inserting the top suction pads, I secured the ends of the string, one around each pad. I then hung the string (and feeder) from the handle of the window, facing out, popped it outside the window, then closed window.(Adjusting string for best view through window) - Secured suction pads to window (great idea to have the extra suction pad this time :-)) and hey presto - brilliant! It is much more secure this time as it not only has the string to take the weight of bigger birds but plenty of suction on the window as an added extra. Very pleased customer - and very happy birds - they love it - thank you.

Bird magnet
There's an almost constant stream of birds arriving at the feeder throughout the day. The chaffinches, robins, sparrows and tits love it - and even a couple of blackbirds have figured out the logistics of landing in the feeder tray. However, the magpies and collared doves also discovered that if they could land on the suet ball stands (which meant them grabbing and taking the suet balls before landing back in and feeding from the tray!). The feeder is not designed for birds this size, and can't take the force they put through the tray as they take off. The hooks holding the feeder on soon cracked. The window suckers were strong enough to survived it all though! I've removed the suet ball stands, and added a strip of waterproof tape to the back feeder tray to support the hooks, and it's still holding together fine! Just bought another one - but the one without all the suet ball holders - so I can add to my feeders collection.
