Q: Hi, would you recommend a size bigger for fit, not sure if these are european sizes?

I wouldn't go for a size bigger than you normally buy. I purchased a medium for myself, my normal size and it fits well.

Q: What is the thickness in GSM?

It is thick. The weight does not reflect the warmth as it is lighter than you would expect. It washes well, do zip up, I do not tumble dry. I hang on hanger and it will dry fine. I wash on 30 degrees and spin on 1200. I have bought these twice and will buy again. Hope this helps.
