I bought this because I am trying to be less wasteful, and my old dish sponge (i used to use the scotchbrite one with handle that holds the soap) was smelly and every time i would change the sponge, there would have a gross greasy slime under there. I was a little nervous buying this because some of the poor reviews said that the product was cheap quality or that it didn't clean very well. The cheap quality issues seem like maybe they were just a bad batch? Bc i haven't had any problems with holes or the little nubs falling off or any weird chemical smells. As for "doesn't clean very well": If you are the type of person who cleans up the kitchen right away, or the type of person who soaks dishes overnight, you will have absolutely no problem. If you are the type of person who lets that shit crust in the sink for days, you're either a masochist or a single man in his late 20s, and you are going to have a BAD TIME with this sponge. There is no "scour" type action here. If you want steel wool, then buy steel wool. There is a good amount of friction with the sponge, which is why i gave it 4 stars for the Easy to Use category since it took a second to realize that it needs to have a bit of soap on there to get going. So as long as you have a little soap and water on there, it work's better than an old-fashion sponge, IMO. We have a electric stove and it has worked well for cleaning that, too. You'll need a rag to wipe afterwards, since the silicone isn't absorbent (obvi). The sponges came in a pack of 3. They will probably last me at least a year considering they're easy to clean and the first one isn't anywhere close to being worn out yet. So overall, if you're thinking about it, buy it. I was pleasantly surprised.

I've been using these for about 2 weeks now. I can't stand the smell of sponges so I wanted to give these a go. So far, they're working out pretty well for me but I have to note a few things about them. I'll add over time as I come across new things about them. 1. As other reviews have mentioned, these do not scrub. I rarely let dishes sit so I don't usually have a problem with food being stuck, but occasionally it happens. When it has, I soaked the dish for a few minutes and it came off just fine with these. If you tend to wait a bit to wash your dishes, these might not be for you. 2. They do not hold onto suds. I've gotten around this by just adding the suds to the water in the sink and washing them in that instead. This does mean I sometimes end up emptying, rinsing, and refilling the sink if I have a lot of dishes or we've eaten something with oil. It works for me because it's what I'm used to. It also prevents what I saw a few other reviewers noting about these being slippery. 3. I saw another reviewer mentioned their daughter thought to use them to clean makeup brushes, which I tried. I also do art and crafts with my kids so we decided to use them to clean our paint brushes and they work well for that too.

I actually use the Lubrima Silicone "Sponges" for scrubbing my hands and fingernails; their gentle and flexible little spikes make my hands feel so much cleaner than just rubbing them together for 20 seconds, especially during this Covid19 pandemic. For that reason, I keep one in the kitchen, and one at each bathroom sink, and use them all the time. Of course I also use them for scrubbing glassware, dishes, and non-stick pots and pans—anything I can't put in the dishwasher. I really like that they don't harbor germs, never smell bad, and can be sanitized in the top rack of my dishwasher every time I wash a load. When I wear these out, I probably will buy them again. Only time will tell how long that will be. But they have been very durable so far. Though their name describes them as sponges, they really aren't. I would just call them scrubbies. They don't absorb anything like sponges do! However they do get soapy enough for scrubbing, but also can slip out of your hand if you don't hold them tightly enough. Which brings me to the reason I only gave 4 stars: SIZE! That is one thing the manufacturer COULD and SHOULD improve; they could be a bit bigger! Regular sponges come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes; so why not these? That said, I think their current small size is okay for petite hands and maybe kids. But for a larger person's hands, and for cleaning dishes, pots, etc., they would be more useful if they were a little bigger. I hope the manufacturer is listening!

Sponge review Stop wasting your money on those germ infested sponges, Lubrima Silicone Sponge Dish Sponge has multi uses, and collecting moldy germs isn’t one of them! When ordering this product I had some doubts, I mean here we have a product that is supposed to be an improvement over the age-old kitchen tool. I mean, how long have we been using a sponge in the kitchen, I was always taught if it’s not broke don’t fix it! Moldy bacteria growing the apparatus that you use to clean your dishes isn’t something I want to worry about, especially with all the germs going around in this day! When I recurved the product I have to admit I loved the feel of it!! It was quite soothing in between my fingers! They have small silicone little cleaning tentacles that can be used to scrub or scrape. Its design also makes it more pliable, allowing you to reach traditionally hard to reach places, such as the inside of a thin glass or in tight corners. It doesn’t wear out quickly or hold odors. They are very versatile. As I have used mine to get the dog hair off my pants with ease, i have used it to grab a hot pizza pan from the oven, as a trivet to put a hot pot on and even as an assistant to help open those super tight jars! I have been using one for a while now and it seems no matter how many times I use it when I’m done I just run it under hot water shake the excess water off it and hang it from the convenient little hole on the side to let it dry, it has yet to produce a foul, or musty smell! They seem to be very durable, as the one I have been using hasn’t lost any tentacles, and it seems to work well with all my scrubbing needs! There are a few qualities that I really like, one is the fact that they are environmentally friendly! Your not having to throw one away every few days because of the germs or smell! I have a set of expensive pots and pans they have that non stick silicone liner and when you cook in them and stuff gets stuck on them it’s natural for me to grab a harsh scrubbing pad to get the grease and grime off, unfortunately when you do this it tends to scratch the silicon as well, causing the pan to be useless. Try frying potatoes in one after it’s all scratched up they stick every time! But when I use the Lubrima Silicone Sponge Dish Sponge it gets the grease and grime off with ease and doesn’t leave behind any scratches! They only thing that I would improve with these sponges is the ability to hold the soap longer! But if I take my dish soap and put it in a small saucer instead of the sponge and just dip my sponge in it every now and again, there is no problem!! This is a product that I will be purchasing again, just not sure when that will be due to the life span it seems to have. I priced some similar silicone sponges and some were double even triple the price! When you get tired of throwing your money away in those germ filled sponges give these a try you won’t be sorry!! They came with 3 however, one ran off with my sister before I could snap a pic of it!

TL;DR: Don't buy. Didn't clean dishes, started to break after 3 days of light use Bought these silicone pads to use for non-stick pans and knives that don't go in the dishwasher. In theory, a great plan. Third day of very light use and have not run them through the dishwasher: I used them to clean a non-stick pan with a little grease and a non-stick pan used for eggs (nothing burnt on, food comes off by scratching with fingers). After the second pan, the small "teeth" on the pad started to break off causing bald spots on the pad. I then cleaned the liners for my stove top. They had normal use grease on them. Despite using more dish soap for each liner (6 in total) and very hot water, the grease remained on them. The inability of the dish detergent to stick to the silicone liner made it difficult for the dawn dishsoap to be effective. After washing everything again with a normal sponge, each item was fully clean in less time with less effort and with less soap required. I will not be using these at all for dishes. I may try them with scrubbing a tub at best and throwing them away after they begin to break. Pros: dishwasher safe bacteria resistant no smell over time Cons: ineffective against stuck on food despite hard pressure easily broken requires lots of dish detergent ineffective against grease

**Update - it's been another month & we are back to using the Scrub Daddy sponges. These don't hold any kind of shape, it flops like a piece of cloth. It also isn't for dirty dishes, you have to really work to get dried food off. Theory is great, execution is lacking. Original 4 star review - It’s definitely a new thing to me. You can put soap ON it but it doesn’t soak in so it rinses off pretty easily. If you use this on dishes before the food dries there are no issues but I used it on a nonstick pan that had last night’s dried pasta sauce in it & it took a LOT of elbow grease to get it off. I like it because it won’t stink when it gets left in the sink with water or whatever. My children cannot for the life of them figure out that you don’t let sponges sit around wet! That’s why I tried these. It’s been about a week, so far it’s not bad.

Works very nice

I remove most food and debris from my dishes prior to hand washing or placing in the dishwasher. I prefer to avoid loading my sponge or dish cloth with food bits or discoloring them (tea and tomato sauce at our house). This product is very useful and exceeded my expectations. The soft bristles don't scratch anything. They have no chemical odor. They are totally non-absorbent. They are available in other shapes and sizes from several sources, and I don't know if they are all the same quality. This shape is very versatile. I haven't seen any wear on my first set, but I will purchase them again, with pleasure when needed. I use one to loosen or remove food stuff from the dishes while I rinse them prior to actually washing them; it is easy to remove all the bits and sauce from the scrubber. I still need something for scouring, but I expected that; and presoaking helps there. I use one to help clean in the bathroom. I use a third one when washing cat litter boxes, because the soft bristles clean within the kitty scratches without adding any more scratches to the pan.

I love these. They are a perfect alternative to traditional kitchen sponges & cloths. I'm really happy with my purchase.
