Wickes® Universal Standard Room Thermostat Energy Saving Mechanical Temperature Control (Mounting Plate Included)

Bought to control a 2kw heater in a utility room. Does the job perfectly. Not sure if the temp is accurate but if feels about right, so I’m pleased. Easily fitted, looks ok.

Low quality rubbish. Instructions are terrible: They tell you (very clearly) exactly the wrong orientation for the base plate. The labelling of the connections is different between the instructions and the sticker on the thermostat The screw threads are terrible. By the time I had disconnected it to turn the base plate round, and correct the terminals, three of the threads were stripped. I had to source a different one (on a Saturday afternoon, which was tricky). I am returning it for a refund.Don't waste your money.

Easy to fit and does the job accurately.

I am baffled as how to remove the front cover so I can wire up the thermostat. The instructions are not very helpful in trying to dismantle the front cover

Bought this to replace our old one which was exactly the same ! Thought we needed a new boiler but it was just our old thermostat ....brilliant
