Where it fails:1. Without a woofer, there is zero bottom end. Music / Movies just don't sound good at all. Yes, when you use the speech feature the voices get louder, but that is because the highs get boosted - I find it to be too sharp and harsh on the ears, so stopped using that function. (Further, you can achieve the same thing with an equalizer software or hardware). I don't expect subwoofer base, but I have seen speakers this small that have much better sound for a similar price or cheaper and one can enjoy music with. These seem to be solely for voice.2. The amp is just ok. As another reviewer said, you can't tell how loud the volume is nor what channel you are on and it makes working with it from the remote pretty difficult. You will need to either just set it and leave it, or get up to adjust / check it from time to time.3. The remote is not great at all and seems to not work right all the time. A call to customer service does get you a person on the phone, but then rather than actually solving the problem seems to want to explain all the in and outs of RF technology and why you should not be having the problem you're having / suggest you use a different remote, etc.4. I suspect the reason there are lot's of positive review is the company asks for them with your purchase and people are either impressed with how they look (they are sleek looking) and are giving a review before using them for sometime.If you ONLY want these cause you just can't hear, maybe this is ok, but for me even then the highs are just too sharp and they are two expensive. If you hope them to be versatile to switch between netflicks , youtube, music, etc then you will likely be disappointed. Could be just me, but for close to $400 you could just buy two small high quality speakers, pair it with a better amp and have a much high quality system in my opinion. If anyone wants to buy mine I'll gladly sell em and go back to just using the TV's speaker.

I wanted a sound bar for my recently purchased a 32" Samsung Smart TV and happened upon a reference to Orb speakers as a sound bar alternative. After reviewing information on Amazon, the Orb site, and in YouTube videos, I ordered and received the "Orb Audio Booster Basic Micro Soundbar and TV Stereo Speaker System with Bluetooth and Dialogue Enhance" on December 30, 2017. Detailed instructions mainly in pictorial format were shipped with a small remote control and necessary wiring to connect the speakers and amplifier to my TV which was done with an included optical cable. Older TVs may require additional cables as explained in the instructions. Connections took perhaps 20 minutes. After turning the TV speakers off, volume adjustments were made with the Orb remote control. An emblem on the remote is entitled Dialog Boost. From the instructions - "this feature works by reducing background sounds to isolate the dialogue for better clarity." And it does! The sound quality from the speakers is excellent, and the ability to place them at variable distances from each other as desired creates a true stereo sound not possible with the TV speakers or what would be possible with a short soundbar. Also, once initial volume is set, there is not a need to continually adjust volume throughout an evening of viewing. I am quite pleased with this purchase.

After buying a new TV i was very disappointed in the lack of sound clarity. Today I just hooked up my new Orb Audio speakers and booster (with help from Gary in customer service). I needed extra help, though there are very good videos on the Orb site that demonstrate how to hook everything up (probably more than enough info for most people). After unpacking the box and looking at the instructions I was a bit baffled so I went to the website, which welcomed people to call for help. "We love speaking with our customers," -- what websites say that! So I called with some rather silly questions, I'm sure, but they were not treated as silly and I was treated with patience and respect. Now I can hear dialogue so clearly, even at low volume. And the overall sound quality is excellent. Guess you can tell I am really happy with the purchase.

America you don't need Trump to make America great again. Orb Audio is already doing it! I'm an Aussie and ordered a small speaker and sub package to pair with a new Denon AVR a few years ago. At that time I even bought the stylish BOSS desk stands and later HOSS floor stands. I was so impressed with the speakers and sub than over time I bought more and now have a 5.1 surround sound system with 12 speakers.Driven by any good AVR the speakers produce a fullness of sound with impressive clarity and accuracy for voices and dialogue. Which is especially great if as I did for this purchase and review, you want a better audio solution for you large screen TV. This Booster Basic package from Orb Audio delivers the same great enhanced sound for my TV viewing as the 12 speakers which make my fully spec'd surround sound system system.HiFi is ridiculously expensive here so I tell everyone I know in Australia about Orb Audio. The customer service and if you require any, advice is second to none. So as we say down under 'do you yourself a favour' and buy Orb.

I used these speakers to add better sound to our kitchen which has in-ceiling speakers in one end. They connect to a Tivo and TV. I did not buy them for musical ability, but to get better TV sound. When I first hooked them up, I noticed better clarity in voice, but for some music, they were not very good. However, as they "burned in" they sounded better and better. I finally disconnected the in-ceiling speakers and use just the Orbs. They fill the entire area. They will never match my $5K main system, but they are more than adequate for their intended use. I can see them being the main system in a small apartment paired with a small subwoofer. Highly recommended - with the booster. As an added bonus, they come with a Bluetooth dongle so you can send tunes from your iPhone to the Booster and then out to the speakers. Apartment dwellers, your search is over. Small, almost invisible, good sound reasonable price.PS: I just ordered the sub.
