New USB Cell Phone Sim Card Reader For Backup SMS to PC

I know it's not much money, but seriously you get what you pay for. Let me say it again- you get what you pay for!!! I'm emphasizing that because you absolutely WILL regret buying this worthless piece of plastic and metal. DO NOT buy this! I didn't listen to the warnings that were on the reviews page and I got burned. The item is shipped with a little tiny piece of paper with a website to visit and vague directions on which drivers you have to download. I downloaded the drivers and plugged it in. I was able to pull the phone numbers from an old sim card, but when I tried to download the SMS messages it froze. I tried to reload the drivers, didn't work. I tried removing and re-downloading the drivers, didn't work. I tried plugging in the reader first, I tried plugging it in last, I tried to do exactly what I did the first time. Nothing at all worked. I gave up after a while. If I could rate this device any lower than 1 star, I would. I could have bought a pack of Fruit Stripe gum with the money and it would have been useful longer. Do yourself a favor; hit the back button and scroll down. Spend the $5 on a different device that will work.

My wife had dropped her phone during hurricane Sandy on the way to the car and lost and found returned it 3 days later. AT&T could not read the SIM.I tried this and was able to recover her phone book. I could only view it, but was able to use a screen capture tool to copy and print it out. my wife could then enter all the lost phone numbers manually into her new phone.At first it would not bring up the phone book. I had to try to open messages first then when I went to the phone book it read the entries.

It may be helpful for some but very complicated to understand and did not do the job I wanted it to do.

cause the SIM card reader do not work!!!! I need a cell fone sim card reader that really works?& cheap would b nice please let me no if u find a cheap cell fone sim carrd reader?I really could use 1 see what happened is my son got mad at a video games and broke the screen on the phone and I have pictures and video memory saved on the SIM card and I really would like 2 get a cell fone sim reader so I can copy the sim card and save it on to another device? please if you can help find me one Thanks

It was difficult to get working at first - the instructions had a typo on the website to get the software, but thankfully another reviewer gave the correct site. Then I ended up having to setup an old PC running XP as their software only runs on older, 32bit OSs.Once those obstacles were solved, it worked great, and I was able to pull old contact information off my old SIM card!

sim card reader is awesome it help me retrieve some of my information from my phone all because i accidently washed my cell phone so i had to figure out a way to get some data of my cell phone so my business won't be caught without the vital info on my cell phone

I received this product in hopes that I'd be capable of recovering a few items off my cell and dragging them into my pc. Now once this came in the mail, it came with 2 things. The Blue Sim Card Reader, itself and the "Driver" disc. So, I placed the disk in my PC in order to commence installing the drivers, only to the realize, that firstly the disc doesn't even include the proper drivers for this item. Secondly, the correct drivers are apparently only capable with Windows Vista, so if your like me where you have an XP at home, your done. For 4-6 dollars, this may sound like a good idea. But be warned, this sim card reader is a complete and total disappointment and is not even worth a single penny.

i think this item probably works fine (it seemed to read my sim card), but the software doesn't work well at all. i could only retrieve up to 18 text messages, no phone book entries, and the .sms export was useless (no dates, no format, just text all ran together).i followed both the instructions included with the reader & those given by a previous reviewer to access the correct software...it just doesn't work.and since the seller will only refund the purchase price, but no shipping fees (neither to nor from), it's not worth trying to return. just another piece of plastic for the junk drawer. :/
