I bought this for my Tesla Model 3. It did take like a month to come from China, but the car did take longer to come too, so it did not matter. I applied this to the new rims of the Model 3 on the 18in aero wheels. The thickness of the rim protector is just about right for my rims. My rim protector has 3M branded tape, so that's good and sticky. The instructions on the box are Chinese, but it's pretty self explanatory. Clean your wheels, use the "adhesion promotion" wipe/isopropyl alcohol wipes, apply first layer of rim protector a little bit at a time to contour to the wheel's bend, and finally apply the cylindrical core thing to the channel that you just stuck onto the wheel. I'll say putting the center core thing into the channel is pretty difficult requiring quite a bit of pressure and possibly a hard nylon tool to help push that thing in without hurting my fingers. I've driven the car 230 miles since installing this and it seems to hold up well so far.

This product became more of a problem than useful! First of all, it’s super difficult to install! After 3-4 weeks, the parts starts to detach from wheel rim. As the parts started to detach, it will whip and scratch your car as you drive (pls see photos). If I was persistent, I’d sue the company for damaging my car. After you realize it’s damaging your car, you try to remove it from your wheels and realize the adhesive remnant needs to be scraped off. Which in turn will scratch up your car rims. So u end up damaging the wheel. Totally regret in ordering this piece of ^#%*.

Pros: 1. It will protect your rims from slight curb rash less than 3 mph. Best to just pay attention to your curbs. 2. give your wheel trim a nice look.Cons: You Can never go through a chain pulled car wash only brushless car wash or hand wash. The tracks on the chain car wash will rip the curb rash protector off.How to make this product a 4 star product well. Here is the stuff you will need.Bron red killer tapeHeat gunAnd gorilla clear glueInstallation instructions: the red killer tape is to mount the black rail to the rim. You will have to cut small strips of red killer tape. The adhesive on the black rail is not very sticky and will fall off. Place the red killer tape in between the rail adhesive with the rim. Then use the heat gun to heat up the red tape to activate the red killer tape adhesive to the rim. Get it hot enough to just warm up the red tape. Do not melt the black rail with the heat gun. Just minimal heat. Heat causes the red tape to bond.Next. The red plastic stripe mount and cut exact fitting. Do a test mount before you lock it in place you will have to remove it to put glue in between. Once you remove the red pin stripe use minimal amount of clear gorilla glue inside the rail. Remount the red pinstripes. Wait at least 12 hours before driving your car.

Was not what I was looking for.

This curb protector, protects like it says. I made sure my wheels were clean before putting these on. You must remove all gunk,tar,wax and dirt from the application area. If you clean it right you will have no problems. I hit several curbs because my city is riddled with one way streets with medians. This curb protector held up to hitting the curb at 5 mph. You must allow the bond to cure. Once you apply it, it must be 24 hours or more I waited 72 hours before driving and made sure to keep the wheels dry during the bonding time.

This product had poor customer reviews and now I know why. It simply will NOT stick to wheel rims and I cleaned them first with alcohol wipes. I don’t blame the 3-M Company for their adhesive tape; my guess is that this product sat too long in a warehouse somewhere and the adhesiveness of the tape simply wore out. I’m returning this item to Amazon.

Did not stick to rim,

Had no problem, tried other kinds (garbage). These worked great. They are still in the wheels. I will buy another set for my winter wheels. For the price they are well worth it.
