Sorry it did not work out. Too many negative design features for me.
Great idea and great price. I returned it because it was too risky long term and had too many negative design features for me.The bucket is plastic, and plastic absorbs odors and bacteria. Plastic cannot be sanitized and I was afraid it would smell up my kitchen. I would have had to purchase extra replacement buckets. Not confident this manufacturer would be around later when I needed them. And if I could not get the extra buckets, replacing the unit with a different brand would be impossible because the holes drilled in the counter top are all different sizes for the different brands.There is no handle or any way to grab onto the bucket when it is in the hole. I did not see how I was going to be able to get the bucket out when it was full and heavy.I was concerned it would further smell up my kitchen because there is nothing on the cover to control odors, such as a vent with a charcoal filter to let air out, or a rubber gasket around the cover to keep odors in.The bucket is recessed in the counter which is great, however the cover is not. It still takes up valuable counter space in my small kitchen. And since that is why I bought this in the first place, and because when the cover is on I cannot use this space for anything else such as a cutting board or a hot pan, this defeats the purpose for me.

Will work great installed into my countertop
I think this product is over priced but I do love it. There are not many options available on the market so I guess they can price it any way that they like.

Great Product and priced reasonably
Will do exactly what I want it to: put composting material right where I need it--in my countertop recessed until I remove the bucket!! The stainless steel cover looks great!! I have been using a countertop bucket for years and can't wait to "hide" the composting materials in my new recessed bucket.

Exactly as advertised
Used with compostable bags as suggested, this product is the solution to organic waste. It does away with an unsightly bucket on or under the counter. It is easy to install and the provided dimensions are exact. The design of the lid allows using the area for bowls, cutting boards when not accessing it. This product is what we had in mind. Delivery is slower as it is a fulfilled product not stocked by Amazon.
