It is powered by SATA from the psu. It comes with a 4 pin pwm that connects to the mother board to link all the fans speeds. Hope that helps.

I have a microatx mobo with not enough fan headers for my phanteks p400a case. can i use this for the rgb fans that come with the case?

Yes offcourse you can use them, just make sure that they have 3-4pin connectors so you can plug it into the Silverstone FAN HUB

Does this come wth the PWM cable?

I have the older version, and mine did not come with any accessory cables. Thre current version offers then as "Frequently Bought Together" 4 pin PWM extensions.
