I am very happy with this product. I am confident enough in its performance to entrust it with the feeding or our two cats for a weekend. I might even use it all the time, so they don't wake us up early on weekends. I was looking for a product that I could test beforehand to confirm its performance and get positive feedback that it was doing exactly what I expected from it. I have tested this product for 48 hours and it has automatically fed my cats 8 times within 15 seconds of the designated times that I specified in the setup. In addition, I have used my iPhone to manually feed the cats five times with differing portions by issuing a command from the iPhone. Every time a feeding happens, you receive a log entry that you can see on your phone that tells you when they were fed and how much they were fed. The app also allows you to push a button to see your pets eating in real time HD video. You can also turn on a speaker on the app to hear your pet or you can push the microphone button on the app to talk to them while they are eating. They don't know what to think hearing my voice come out of the feeder. The app also allows you to record your voice to call your pet when the feeding occurs.Setup was very easy once I followed the directions. It took less than 5 minutes. I have a dual band router that transmits at both 2.4 GHz (802.11 b/g/n) and 5.0 GHz (802.11 a/n/ac). The feeder will only connect to the 2.4 GHz router standard. So it is important to connect your cell phone to a Wi-Fi signal at 2.4 GHz before you start the feeder setup process. I made the mistake of leaving my phone at the 5.0 GHz setting and could not get the feeder to connect to my Wi-Fi. Once I connected to the 2.4 GHz router signal everything worked smoothly. After connecting the feeder to the router, I unplugged it to simulate a power outage to make sure that it re-connected to the router automatically and it did. Once it is set up you can reconnect your phone to 5.0 GHz if you wish.The company was very good working with me. I feed my cats at four times: 06:45, 11:45, 17:00 and 23:00. The first feeder I received had a problem where it did everything correctly, except it would only allow feeding 3 times and would randomly shut off one of my four feeding times. When I notified the seller, they were very friendly and helpful. After I tried a couple of different setups, they sent me a new feeder that works perfectly. I did not receive anything for doing this review. I just wanted to do it because these people treated me fairly and they have created a product that I can entrust to take care of two loved furry members of my family. I highly recommend this product.One last thing: when you are setting up the time and amount to feed, they use the term “copies” instead of something I would be more familiar with like cups. After doing some testing, I figured out that 4 copies is a little more than a ¼ cup and 8 copies is a little more than a ½ cup. I feed my cats about 3/8th cup each time, so they get 6 copies, 4 times a day to share..

Very reliable and I love the video and chat feature. I didn’t think it was that difficult to set up and I am by no means tech savvy! The toughest part is when you get to the screen where you have to let the feeder scan a code that is sent to your phone...but slowly move your phone around in front of it - back and forth and sideways and it will find it’s “sweet spot” and viola! You are in! I did it on iphone and my son also did it on Android ... (in fact...he didn’t even read the directions...he just figured it out...but 20 somethings are better at that than me, I will admit) - both phones work fine and we can both load it and use it from two different phones - so multiple people can “check in”. And the picture is nice! Although it doesn’t purport to have “night vision”...as long as there is SOME ambient light in the room we can still see kitty pretty well!

This feeder is the bomb!! The camera, speaker, and microphone work amazingly well over the internet. The scheduled feeds work really well also. I don't know about the people who had problems, but for me the setup was easy. You just download the app on your phone and follow the instructions. My only suggestion is that the camera needs to show the food in the bowl so you can see that it's working. I bought a bike helmet mirror and stuck it to the side and positioned it to reflect the bowl in the camera view so I can see what's going on with the food while I'm away.

This mostly does as advertised. I've set it up to dispense food at prescribed times and it does that, which was the point of the purchase. About once a month it will jam or short the cats on a meal, but it usually clears itself. I give it 4 stars because sometimes the manual feed (via the app) just doesn't work/ignores the command. Other than that, it's fantastic. I love being able to see my cats and their space when I've left them for a weekend and I never have to worry about them either running out of or gorging themselves on a weekend's worth in a single day anymore. I've had it up and running for 3 months now with no problems so I fee it was worth the price.

I was originally going to give this 4 or 5 stars, then I put batteries in today only to find that it does not work in batteries in case of a power failure!!! What??? So if the power goes out, my cat starves. Awesome, what was the point of spending so much money???Update: It fails with daylight savings time!! My cat throws up when his stomach is empty so the feeder is set to go off before I wake up in the morning to hold him over for breakfast, this morning I woke up to the howling and sure enough throw up all because the feeder while set to the correct time (EST) still reflects the old time. Now it is passed the return deadline so I'm stuck

For people who are busy and traveling a lot, this is a great helper. I will be honest, it took several tries to get connected to the wifi. The instructions could be better but it is not a big deal, what you need to do is not that complicated. If you keep having issues just plug it and unplug it after that reset it to default. And try the instructions again. I recommend putting the feeder next to the wifi router while you are setting it up and then you can move and connect back no problem.All of it s functions work really well. Photo, camera, video recording, night vision, sound everything works.Another suggestion of mine would be trying to see the size of your cats dry food. I have done my research before buying this product, and one of the biggest problems I have seen was the feeders getting blocked. So find a smaller size dry foot or just smash your dry food do smaller pieces if your food blocks your feeder. I didn't have any problems with blocking as of yet and I don't think I will with the dry food I have.I highly recommend this product; my cats are happy, I know exactly how much they are eating, I can check them whenever I want. I am satisfied and not worrying about my cats all the time. We are a happy family!
