Märklin my world Plastic Track Extension Set, 23300

...it is easy to fall into a trap with this set.The original track does not yield two perfect twin track ovals.The vagaries of the R1 curve geometry thwart a simple layout. It took me two hours to get the much enlarged layout to work.Please Mr Marklin will you produce 6 packs of the 'point curves'!My great nephew and niece have two sets of this extension pack.To add to the two starter sets which means they can have built by Daddy, Grandpa or Uncle and extensive train-set on which to enjoy the operation of their chosen models.IF you intend to set up and tear down the layout regularly I would advise you to mark the point curves in some way otherwise you will spend ages working out which of the four curves out of the possible 48 are the ones for the points/switches...no stars for guessing how I found out!Other than that the cautions above the track works well, the points are 'sprung' allowing trains to 'pass through' when switched to the 'wrong road'. Which can be useful if you like a train magically moving from one circuit to another; my great nephew was spell bound by the train seeming to travel around the enlarged layout without any intervention.The only other caution is that it is easy to build a real railway empire fairly easily and cheaply and my parents are in danger of the small trains dominating their home as miniature trains travelling down their hall way and back. You have been warned.At the new year we had friends visit for lunch and mentioned the train-set was down.A very easy hour was spent shunting back and forth as well as in train chasing and some degree of ramming and side swiping by people who aught to know better.So be you 3 or 63 a simple train-set can be ajoy to little or BIG boys and girlsDefinitely money well spent the extensions just add options to your enjoyment.

Essential for any of the Märklin starter sets and will increase the range of layouts that can be built. This set allows a parallel set of lines with points (turn outs) to be added in as well as increasing the track length available. Märklin have a useful download of layouts on their website which helpfully also tell you which sets you need to assemble the layouts and where the particular curves and straights from this set snap in.

Good quality, would prefer if there were a couple of tiny pieces to ensure layouts click together properly as have had to line a couple of tracks up with no solid connection. Good price.

Quality of design and build excellent. Easy to use. Really like the colour coding at the bottom to make it easier for people to identify different lengths.

excellent value and fits nicely with the start up sets to give the basic track a siding and allow 2 trains to be run. My 3 year old son loves it. The plastic points also work well. Marklin should replicate more of the expensive extension sets in the cheaper plastic version like this for smaller marklin train enthusiasts.

This set makes possible bigger and more interesting layouts but be careful. There are straights of slightly different lengths and the curves in this set match the points and not the curves in the starter train set.One of the points was faulty but the set was replaced very quickly and efficiently.

its extension track for my grandsons first train set. It arrived in perfect condition and was as advertised. I'm very happy with this product.Hoping to make more purchases of these products.
