Better Corn!!!!
This pops up light and fluffy and large. The kernels of popped corn are much larger than any other brands I have used in the past. I use the brown paper bag in the microwave method. With no oil or butter added before popping, the corn pops beautifully and has a really good natural taste! There are very few little half popped or not popper kernels. I find that based on the amount I put in the bag, I have to add an additional 30 seconds or more to the programmed popcorn setting on my microwave but that is true regardless of the brand I use. I suggest the listen to the pop method to judge if you need to add more time or not since all microwaves are different. We like to spray the popped corn with butter spray and salt. My daughter likes to add other seasonings as toppings as well. She had added Chinese 12 spice, fresh chopped cilantro, and many other Asian combinations. My husband likes his just with butter so each person is able to top their own bowl with whatever toppings they are in the mood for at the time.If you are looking for a quick, easy, healthy snack this one is it! Will be ordering again!

Best Of The Best.
I believe this is the best variety of popcorn. The popped corn are very large, and mostly bulbous, which is the same as movie theater corn.Sometimes the hulls fall right off during the heating process so that you end up with a very large hulless piece. Even at worst the popcorn is so large that the hull is less of an inconvenience.Even though I like the baby "Lady Finger" popcorn, the mushroom type is preferable to me. I've only tried two manufacturers, but Hoozier Hill is so good I don't feel the need to experiment. .You might try Trader Joe's butter oil spray for extra flavor.

Good tasting but alot of waste
I enjoyed the mushroom size pieces of popcorn, I make kettle corn out of it so the size is good. What I didnt like is there is alot of waste of kernels as they didnt pop. Probably about 1/8 cup, and many of the kernels are stuck in to popcorn so you have to eat around them and watch out you dont bite a unpopped kernel and break a tooth. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pop this corn differently?

More popcorn less kernal
This is my third time buying this popcorn. At first I thought the pieces were a little bit bigger and fluffier than store brand but it didn't' seem worth the extra money. It was only after I ran out and returned to the store brand that I noticed the regular stuff was less crisp and more chewy. I tried yet another brand and still not as crisp and corn tasting. So I bought more of this, the hard outer kernel is much smaller relative to the white fully interior and it easily slides off if you want to eat only the corn part. The corn does pop in a rounder smoother mushroom like shape but its not dramatically different than regular corn, its the crispness and taste that make it a standout!

For us, it requires high heat and cooked in oil
We tried it in the microwave, in a pan and in our electric popper with oil: ours did not fully pop (lots of kernels left over) and is not particularly crunchy. In the microwave some of it burned rather than pop. In all cases at least 10-25% of the product did not pop. It's got a nice corn taste but is kinda bland. I think this "mushroom" popcorn is not to our liking. After some experimentation we found this best pops in very hot oil in a pan with the lid cracked, there's very few kernels left over. Since we desire a microwave popcorn this just doesn't fit with our household.

Pretty nice popcorn
Pretty nice popcorn overall. Pops up well if you really heat up that oil. I find using a peanut or sunflower oil works best for the greatest popped to unpopped kernel ratio. The bag however was torn when I received the package and there seemed to be alot of popcorn "dust" in the bag. It did not seem to effect the product, so that's not too big a deal. I would likely buy this product again. But do keep in mind if purchasing that this type of popcorn is best when used for coating or for kettle corn. If you are looking for popcorn to munch on with a movie, I would stick with a regular store bought type of corn.

BEST. POPCORN. EVER.
This popcorn is AMAZING. I make it with a Whirley Pop popcorn popper using 1 tblsp. of coconut oil and 1/2 cup of Hoosier Hill Farm Mushroom Popcorn. In 2.5 minutes I have the best popcorn ever- HUGE kernels that are completely popped and come out so light and fluffy it practically melts in your mouth. I usually season with sea salt and fresh cracked pepper but I've also tossed in a tbsp. of Splenda Brown Sugar while popping and made low calorie, better-than-cracker-jacks caramel corn. This is the third time I have ordered this popcorn and have never been disappointed. I only wish it came in a bigger container! I love mushroom popcorn and have ordered several varieties from different companies but this is BY FAR my favorite. I'm definitely a fan!

Real popcorn
Another Hoosier Hill Farm item I would buy again and recommend. I've had the smaller kernel gourmet popcorn (such as the Ladyfinger), and now this large mushroom popcorn. Not only is it fresh, it has flavour. It wasn't until using the Hoosier Hill Farm gourmet popcorn that I noticed that the average popcorn available in the store is flavourless. I've tried several different Hoosier popcorns, enjoy them all, and now make a point of making a big bowl as a snack, and to eat while watching a movie.

When making this popcorn the oil must be at 400 ...
When making this popcorn the oil must be at 400 degrees to achieve the mushroom effect, otherwise they will be more of a butterfly shape. even in the butterfly shape these are suitable for using for flavored and candy corn

Mouldy and extremely stale popcorn… Worthless
The popcorn was so stale and terrible that it was barely edible. I’m returning this 100%. Also, if you actually inspect the popcorn there are tons of kernels that are moldy… I don’t know how these people can slip through the food inspections. Further, this is not at all mushroom popcorn. Not a single Colonel came out in the round ball as it was supposed to, and as it does with other brands that claim to sell mushroom variety. Don’t waste your money. So much for money back guarantee, which is written right on their packaging. I wish I was allowed to upload a picture to show how poorly this popcorn pops.

Husky Results
The first few attempts didn't work out so well for me - many kernels didn't pop. I realized the problem was that I didn't use enough oil. When I finally got the oil ratio correct, it poppped quite well. The popcorn we got was definitely above average in size. However, we found there was a lot more pieces of husk from this popcorn then you get from your average popcorn. All and all it's pretty good, but with the higher pricing on this corn I don't know if I felt it was 100% worth it either.

Nice stuff!
Love this stuff!Dug up an old 90's hot air popper to make (clone?) Chicago mix popcorn.Third try..tasting pretty good (prefer 2/3 caramel + 1/3 cheddar)..may need more butter ;-P...Pop into a bowl & then remove the popcorn by hands/scoops..that way the hulls are left behind.Bulk Barn has "jumbo" popcorn, but it's not as nice as this (at least not done in a hot air popper).PSA: wear socks while using any hot air popper..the hot unpopped kernels that spit out WILL invariably end up between your bare toes!
