We have added a doggy door to our patio doors which prevents us from locking them. These supports are adjustable. They seem to be flimsy and not sure if the would prevent a robbery but they do hold the D or closed.

These were ordered to protect 11"X22" windows in an attached garage from golf balls. Upon installing them, I found that they would not stay in place, due to the feet on each end of the rod being glossy plastic, which would skid out of the also glossy plastic window frame. When enough tension was applied to keep them from popping out, the moveable spring loaded part of the assembly would gradually rotate inward over an hour or two until the tension was released, and then fall out. For example, if I extended the rod to 23", and then compressed the spring to 22" to get it into the window frame, I would find it on the ground the next morning shortened to 22". I tried putting felt pads with adhesive on the window frames, which didn't work, and wood wedges between the frames and the feet on the rods, which held them in place a little better, but looked crappy. As a last resort before returning them, I mounted them on the outside of the whole recessed window frame, so that the feet on the rods would be pressing up against granular stucco, and couldn't slide around. So far, so good, but unless your window frames are mounted inside of pop-outs where they are recessed in the house, good luck finding a way to keep these rods secure in place.

My wife and I love to leave our windows open but till we purchased this product we felt anxious at night Product is drop dead easy to instal works well and has us sleeping soundly
