I’m a newbie to soldering, and this kit has honestly been great for learning. I really like that the iron is digital — the temperature display makes it way easier to understand what’s going on, and it heats up fast with what feels like accurate temps. It already works better than my last iron, so that alone made it worth the price. The little stand it comes with is surprisingly useful, and the desoldering pump works way better than I expected. The accessories overall feel exactly like what I paid for — not premium, but definitely functional. My only annoyances: I wish it came with an iron cleaner instead of just a sponge, and it would’ve been nice to have instructions for the cable splitter (or whatever it’s called) for beginners like me. Nothing major, just things that would’ve made the kit feel more complete. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this to anyone starting out. It’s affordable, easy to use, and does the job well.

Everything needed to repair some wires that mice chewed through on my ATV. Extra wire, shrink wrap, insulators of all sizes. For the price it save me a lot of money repairing my ATV. Extremely easy to use.

this is an "almost" ideal starter kit; be sure to buy some soldering flux as none is included. Definately for hobby use, developing soldering skills, and light electronic repairs; not for large electrical work. I find the soldering iron with its adjustable settings works well and comes with multiple tips. A good value considering the price.

I searched for quite a while on Amazon when looking for a soldering iron for my keyboard. Most have these tiny, flimsy stands that don't work or keep the tip in the air, thin little tips, and no solder sucker or wicks. This one? The stand isn't the sturdiest, but it's completely metal and really nice for holding it without accidentally burning yourself since it tips downward. It's a little hard to stick it in there one handed, but I added some magnets to it to keep it in place on my table (I don't have a designated area for this) and that worked like a charm. The iron itself heats up QUICK, and comes with a BUNCH of tips as well as two tiny little screwdrivers that really came in handy since I couldn't find the one I usually use. It also came with a good amount of solder and wick, and the solder seemed to work quite well once I got the hang of it. I was a complete beginner when I started, and 3 hours later I had a customized keyboard that definitely wasn't supposed to be customized (some of the switch pins were LITERALLY bent over the holes intentionally...). It was EXACTLY what I needed to complete the project I bought it for, and I have some solder left over if I wanna modify anything else. The only reason this product isn't 5 stars is because of 3.5 reasons. 1. The Iron turns on as soon as you plug it in. I don't know if maybe it got jostled and just happened to be set to on last time it was unplugged, but it seems like a HUGE oversight to not have to power the device on after you plug it in. For something with a digital screen interface, I really didn't expect that plugging it in would turn on the heat and almost melted the plastic around the tip. So big tip- MAKE SURE ITS OFF WHEN YOU PLUG IT IN BEFORE YOU SET IT DOWN. 2. The temperature reading on the screen doesn't seem correct. It lists it as Celsius, but when I set it to 250 (a normal temp for keyboard switch pin soldering, as far as I could see) the solder didn't even budge. Some quick conversations later, I set it to 480 (assuming it might actually be Fahrenheit) and that worked like a charm. Didn't end up effecting the usage, I still got what I needed done, just caused a little confusion as a beginner since I had to experiment to see which temp actually worked. 3. It gets very hot after long use. Now, granted, I did use it for 3 hours straight, but the grip was getting so warm that I had to grip closer to the buttons towards the end and kept accidentally pressing them. If your projects will be that long, just keep that in mind and don't burn yourself. As a half point, the Solder Sucker was way too big for my hands. I made it work, but because of the size it was a little unwieldy and the recoil was hard to control with one hand. I assume it was intended for big man hands, but I wish sometimes I could have something fit my little gamer girl hands. If you also have notably small hands, I recommend using your pointer finger to reload and holding it like a third grader holds a pencil to stabilize it. Overall, amazing product for the money and do exactly what I needed it to do, which some modifications of my own to make it work for me. If you're crafty on a budget, which if you're looking into buying this I assume you are, then this needs to be the one you get. Unless you need flux. Then... maybe just get some flux, honestly.

Was just looking for a cheap soldering iron to do some threaded inserts for plastic parts. My cordless Weller doesnt work with any of the adapters for those. Decided on this one because of the handle. Lot of the under $20 ones have thin handles that get hot. Like the large rubber tipped handle on this one. Plus, the LED is white and not black on grey, so much easier to read! (excuse the photo though, the led flashes rapidly under a camera lens). Excellent lcd, temp controls are great and heats up fast! The kit came with a lot of good accessories, such as the long tweezers and a stand. Well worth the money for this set! The only con is the cable length. It's about 3ft. Wish it was either 5 or 6, so had to use an extension cable to my work desk.

This kit turned out to be just what I needed. I haven't soldered in many years, and I have a new electronics project that is just started. This kit came with everything I need to get going. The digital iron is very nice. And all the accessories in the kit mean that I have tackled one project after another, and I've always had what I need.

This is a great starter kit, I fixed an og xbox with this. Works like It should shop far. Good for the price, and heats up fast. Be careful lol

When I decided to replace all 21 capacitors on a SL-1200 turntable I purchased this kit, a couple of soldering practice kits, and watched several videos on soldering. I got pretty good at it and the operation was a success. The iron worked great. The accessories and extra tips were helpful, but I did buy a better solder sucker. Hard to beat though, imo.

So far the kit has worked well, I still have some more practice to do with it. Not everything has been used yet, or may be useful, but the tweezers are a nice add on, it comes with a selection of tips and the iron works pretty well. Still trying to find my sweet spot on temp, but it will come. Overall, the main thing I wanted it for was the iron, and its good so far.
