Sugar Bush Yarn Chill Extra Bulky Weight, Passion Plum

The colors are beautiful and it is a heavy yarn that would be perfect for a hat if there was an adequate amount of yarn in one skein. I used 15 US 16" circulars to knit a ribbed hat. I am so bummed out because the hat is about 2 inches short of covering any adult's ears. I refuse to buy another just to finish the hat because I don't need even close to a half of a skein more so it would be a waste. Also if I wanted to spend twice as much money to make one hat I would not pick this yarn because it is not as soft as other Extra Bulky Fine Merino such as Wool Addicts Fire which is also 100g per skein but not as dense so its plenty of yarn to make a hat. I really wanted to love this yarn and the colors really are so gorgeous but like other reviews said, they need to add more yarn per skein.

This is supposed to be 52 yards, but I found that the length varies between colors. I made 5 1/2 inches of 3 squares of knitting in Beaufort Sea but the Hudson’s Grey made me only 2 1/2 squares of knitting. The Arctic sky yarn is not 52 yards as well. This is annoying.

The colors on this Sugar Bush yarn are darker than shown. The wool is beautiful though. i've bought a couple of those yarn balls in different colors. it's a good quality thicker Merino wool all evenly spun. There is a longer darker hair spun in with it quite once in a while. i loved all the other colors i bought and they all matched up with the picture shown on the product page, but the colors on this "Meadow Mist" are darker than i wanted and expected them to be. i'm only giving it 2 stars for that reason, otherwise i'd give it 5 stars. Of course if you make a project with only these colors they are absolutely beautiful and nothing to complain about, but i wanted the lighter colors as pictured because of my color combination. Sabiene :)UPDATE: i am giving this beautiful Merino wool a 5 star now, because i have bought many more colors that i'm knitting with and it is wonderful. There was never any more problem of having any human hair spun in it at all anymore. i will buy more in the future.

This is not chunky or bulky yarn. It is overpriced for it's size.

This was not nearly enough yarn for the money. I bought two skeins and was only able to get a stumpy scarf out of it. It also smelled weird - a bit too chemical. I did not read the washing and care instructions (and still haven’t), but assumed it was machine washable. It’s not. Now I have a hard rock shaped like a stumpy scarf.

The colors in the images and the color names are mismatched. I ordered the one named ravishing rose but the image was tan and the yarn that arrived is tundra tan. There are several others that are obviously mismatched.

Color reproduction in the image is wrong. I ordered the coal variety and thought I was getting something slightly grey, but the strand is deep black. A delight to use, and perfectly suitable.

As someone else mentioned, this yarn does smell like chemicals. I have an extremely sensitive nose, so maybe this wouldn't be noticeable to other people. I had to stop knitting and will be returning the unopened cake. Otherwise, this is a very good quality yarn. Sugar Bush should consider offering undyed yarns and yarns with plant dyes.

This is my first time trying Sugar Bush yarn, that is because it’s too expensive. You can find the same kind of yarn for much cheaper.With that being said, I needed some high quality wool in a pinch to make a gift for a friend. This yarn is absolutely gorgeous. Mountie Mango is a beautiful colour, and it is soft like butter. It’s merino wool, so it is way softer and less scratchy than similar looking brands (We Are Knitters or Wool and the Gang are what comes to mind). Now I can see the justification for the price. Well done on a truly beautiful yarn!

I loved the colour, it looked mostly like the colour in the photo. It's a really soft merino wool, with its long fibres, it's not itchy at all, which is a top requirement for me. The only thing I'm not fond of is how furry it is, making the work look a little messy. I would suggest a darker or more forgiving colour so that your work comes out looking neat and tidy. I used sharp fabric scissors to trim where I could, but the more friction applied on the yarn, the more furry it becomes.

I was very impressed with the quality of this wool. Its beautifully soft, so soft that it was just a pleasure to knit with it.But also very solid and sturdy. I can also see it is going to be very warm. The wool does get thicker and thinner at parts, but that is part of the texture and as it's meant to be.It just makes some beautiful projects. (These photos were all knitted on knitting looms.). There's nothing that looks nicer than hand knitted or crocheted items. Except maybe when they are all in the same wool and match.Actually looking forward to some cold weather do I can get some use from them 🙂

I'm new to crocheting and my first project was a beanie (see attached picture). The whole yarn was just enough for an adult hat. It's quite warm as it's really chunky. I am quite happy with this yarn.

Beautiful yarn, soft, gorgeous colour, knits like a dream! It’s a little stretchy too. I’ll be buying more.
