My old breadmaker quit working
Well, it sort of worked, but seemed to be screwing up bread - like it would raise and then when cooking it would fall and just look awful. I don't really know what was happening - seems a heating coil regulator or something like that had gone wonky. I LOVE MY HOMEMADE BREAD AND HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER MACHINE!!! Yeah, yeah, I could go back to doing it manually, but I had gotten used to putting the ingredients in the pan of the bread maker and letting it make the bread. So...I had to find a good replacement and I did quite a search and looked through several bread makers before settling on this Cuisinart one. First, I had one of the original Cuisinart food processors that lasted me about 25-30 years before the plastic started showing too much wear and tear (some pieces cracked off) and even then I found one at a Goodwill store that was exactly like mine so I got more years out of it! I also have a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker and during the summer, I have made some darn good ice cream in it! Now, back to this particular bread maker - it is Cuisinart, but I loved the little add-in ingredient drawer so that part is now "automated" should I want cinnamon swirl breakfast bread or spice and pumpkin seed bread as examples. My old bread maker's "menu window" that showed what I had programmed in was horrible! It had a sort of silver background with black lettering and the size of the loaf was nothing more than a DOT showing at the bottom of the screen! This bread maker has a bright, easy-to-read screen is so much better and I love that it has the "confirm" button as my old one was just basically start/stop. I love the ten beeps to let me take the dough out, remove the paddle, add the dough back and have bread with no paddle sticking out of the bottom. Last, is the way this one is more...horizontal instead of vertical if that makes sense. This Cuisinart bread maker has the bread "bucket" on the left-hand side where the old one had the menu in the front, the bread bucket in the back. I really didn't like that set up as I am shorter and trying to pull that bread bucket out was often more difficult when it was hot and I wanted to pull the bread to cool it off. So...this Cuisinart has several features as noted above that means I am going to be thrilled to make bread every week! OH, and if you have issues with bread makers and the lower bread sizes (not tall like the store-bought, air-puffed breads), follow your favorite bread maker yeast bread recipe BUT ADD IN a tablespoon of vital wheat gluten (used in vegetarian seitan and other vegan recipes to create meatless meat) for each one cup of flour called for in your bread recipe. I have scaled my addition of vital wheat gluten (and please keep it in your refrigerator) to 2/3rds or 2 Tablespoons of vital wheat gluten to 3 cups flour. You will find your bread rises really well and looks absolutely beautiful compared to store-bought puffed up bread! But in the end, this is my best-buy Cuisinart machine to date - it may be YOURS as well!

On par with or better than my still working Breadman Ultimate, and that's a good thing!
Since my Breadman Ultimate TR220C bread machine is now 21 years old and still works fine, I got to thinking that it might not have very many years of life remaining and it's no longer made, so I recently started looking into newer machines to consider having a 'back-up' now instead of waiting until my Breadman reaches its end-of-life (I cannot be without a good bread machine! 😄). After doing A LOT of research on features, prices, and customer reviews of several bread machine brands and models, I recently decided on this Cuisinart CBK-210 convection machine. We've owned several Cuisinart products over the years that have done well for us, such as the 12-cup Brew Central coffee maker, 14-cup Elite and 4-cup Elite food processors, waffle iron, 9-speed handheld mixer (for quick preps) and 2qt ice cream maker, so I hoped the bread machine would be of similar quality. Although our past history with Cuisinart products has been good, it was definitely not the sole reason for selecting the CBK-210. I originally considered a much more expensive machine that a lot of reviewers and influencers rave about until I learned that it only makes 2Lb loaves. That alone is a dealbreaker for me, but in combination with the price (3x that of the CBK-210), its size, and that I know two paddles is overkill, I immediately moved on to look at other brands, including Cuisinart. Of all the brands and models I looked at, this CBK-210 bread machine has the most similar features as my Breadman Ultimate but with a slightly smaller footprint overall. . .they both make three different sized loaves (1Lb, 1.5Lb, 2Lb) and crusts; have an add-in dispenser and many of the same or similar settings to choose from. One of the features this machine has that my Breadman doesn't is the audible beep signals for the add-ins and the last rise for the option to remove the paddle. I love that! This Cuisinart also has a setting for creating a sourdough starter that my Breadman doesn't have and the CBK-210 is slightly quieter too. The bread pan interior is only 1/2" less in length than the Breadman and produced a perfect loaf the first time out of the box, which I just did yesterday. I made one of my favorite 1.5lb loaf recipes using 50% bread flour & 50% Golden [white] whole wheat flour (both King Arthur) with chopped walnuts, honey, water, dry milk, grapeseed oil, salt, apple cider vinegar, and bread machine (rapid, instant or quick rise) yeast. . .it baked up just as well and as tasty as it does in my Breadman and the 'add-in' dispenser dropped the walnuts in perfectly.

Makes delicious bread!
Best purchase ever!!! Does a great job, bread turns out perfect every time!! It did take me a few tries to get the recipe right, but once I did I was amazed at how good it is.

Seriously Disappointed in Cuisinart
I am a fan of Cuisinart products. 40 years of cooking I’ve always found their products have quality and dependability. This machine has reversed that opinion. For the past 40 years I’ve made most of my own bread. At 63 I decided to try a bread machine. This is the first time I’ve been disappointed in Cuisinart. I have carefully measured ingredients by weight using grams, ounces, liquid ounces & millimeters (which is weird measuring flour for bread which is weather dependent). I’ve “attempted” making four medium & large size basic white and 1 rye loaves. All heave turned heavy and dense. The tops of the bread do not really brown well either, pale at best even on dark setting. All four loaves have gone into the garbage. I noticed the bake cycle takes well over an hour. It’s at least half of the entire bread making recipe which is 3 1/2 hours. I know baking a basic white bread loaf in my oven at 375° takes 35 minutes. I suspect part of the issue is too low baking temperature. It’s not getting that umph of rise it gets when you first place a loaf in a preheated oven. Cuisinart does not report the baking temperature of the machine. I googled it and found specifically that Cuisinart does not mention anyplace the actual baking temperature of this machine. Low baking temperature would also explain the dull browning of the crust even at the dark setting - also the dense heavy interior. They say there a fan in this machine to circulate the air flow for even browning. If there is it’s the quietest or weakest fan on the planet. The only good thing about this machine is, unlike what Alexis says, it does have an actual pause feature for removing the paddles before the bake cycle. This was an expensive experiment. I’ve come to the conclusion that no machine can match the quality of a true hand-made bread baked in a real oven (not some overly expensive Barbie doll toy kitchen appliance). Other than their food processors (which are best) I’ll be thinking twice before choosing other Cuisinart products. This machine now has garage sale written all over it and lives on the garage shelf.

VERY SATISFIED!
Bought for a family member and they have not stopped talking about how AMAZING IT IS!! I bought this, because it had the convection feature. This is the feature they didn't know they'd love until they had it. I read all the reviews on 6 or 7 other bread makers. I'm glad I settled on this, because they are super happy!! And it said there might be a smell upon turning it on ... there was no smell, no metal warming up ... it just worked perfectly from day one.

Good breadmaker at this price point
This is my 3rd breadmaker and I have made 5 loaves of various types of bread in 3 weeks. So far I am pleased with the appliance. The control panel is very sensitive and I have found with the control panel located on the top right side when scraping the sides during various mixing and kneading if you lightly touch with your arm, the process stops and you must confirm and restart. It was more of an issue on my first loaf as I was not sure why it was happening, now it is a minor inconvenience. The tray for add ins, while it works properly, is very loud during that part of the process. Additionally it does not retract itself after it drops, if you do not want your bread deformed, you must push it back up when removing the paddle.

Great Bread Maker
Very nice bread maker. Compact but with very nice controls. Appearance is nice. Can be a little loud when mixing, but most bread makers are. Would recommended.

Love it
I love this bread machine. I throw all the ingredients in, push a couple of buttons, and walk away. While I'm doing other things, it's making the bread. And it comes out delicious and well-risen every time.

Makes great bread easily
This worked really well for us right out of the box. The flour loaves have been nicely formed and perfectly baked. We baked a gluten-free loaf which wasn't so well formed, but gluten-free baking is quite a challenge and we can't blame the machine. We haven't used the timer function. We used it twice to make sure it worked all right before giving it to our daughter for her birthday. She and her family have used it numerous times since, and are very happy with it.
