Beautiful Instrument
I have been playing for less than a year and I am addicted. This is my fourth Ukulele and all four are KALA brand. I am no expert when it comes to instruments, but this Uke is beautifully constructed and easy to play right out of the box. I have been researching and watching this Uke for the past six months. I just thought $369 was too much for me to spend on a Uke. However, I caught it on sale for $300 and could not resist. I love the look, feel, and sound of this Acacia Tenor. I did not give it five stars for one reason. Last week I went to a music store to fiddle around and I picked up a Martin Tenor - Holy Cow! Honestly, I am still doing some second guessing.

5 star uke. 3 star seller.
Got the uke. It was beautiful. Just as expected. Tuned it up. Played a few chords. Disappointment. Sound was muted and soft. My $50 Makala played better! Then it hit me. Why didn't I notice earlier? These weren't Aquila Nylgut strings as described in the product description! Ordered some new Aquila strings. Three days later, restrung the uke. Tuned it up. Played a few chords and was extremely happy! That's what a $380 uke should sound like! Blew my Makala out of the water. So, five stars for the Kala uke. Three stars for the seller.

Got the Kala gloss ukulele looks and sounds very much like KA-ASC-T. I am now more than satisfied.
Beautiful ukulele with great sound just will not work for me. The neck and fingerboard are too narrow for my fingers. I have tried a cheap Kaka tenor. This sounds SO MUCH BETTER. I also have a Oscar Schmidt baritone with D'Addario EJ88B strings. I'm not sure I like this combination. It sounds a lot like a tenor guitar.Anyway I have ordered a Kala gloss and hope this works. I can;t say enough about Amazon they have been very patient and wonderful to deal with.Lou wheeler

A great ukulele. But not mine.
Bottomline: Kala is still not a professional ukulele maker. It's mass-production, great for beginners. Yes it has excellent quality, but when it comes to $350, why don't you spend $100 more and get a semi-professional ukulele from professional ukulele makers? Such as Martin, Pono, Koalana etc. But just in terms of this uke, it has a warm and mellow tone, even with the aquila strings. It's set up with low action by George's music, so I love it. But my C string buzzes loudly when I'm not even pressed on any string - so the fret bars are uneven. I'm tired of taking it to my local music store so I'll just return it and get a Pono or something.

Sweet Uke
I own several tenor ukes made of different wood material and this particular acacia uke sounds and plays very close to my expensive Koa Uke. Whether picking or chord strumming, the sound is clean and crisp. It gives a nice, bright and punchy sound - just the way I like it. The slotted head stock is also very attractive. For the price, it's a great deal. I am very pleased

Better Quality Control Needed
I was expecting good craftsmanship from Kala... Attention to detail was missed! The fretboard was warped towards the soundhole and while I don't visit those frets very often, I was not going accept this flaw in a uke at this price from what is normally a very good brand. Very dissapointing!

It resonated and intonated nicely, but was a little thin for my tastes
I wasn't blown away with the sound, especially for the price. It resonated and intonated nicely, but was a little thin for my tastes. I typically think of acacia as being a warmer sound than this one. It looked nice with the inlay jewelry and nice tuners and all.

welll what can i say???? this uke is a really beautiful work of art made by one of the biggest uke manufacturers. this uke has a nice rosedwood fingerboard.plus the sound nd pitch of this uke is really nice....but that's juss me. idk if you guyz hear something tht you dnt lyke change the strins to give it the sound you want. you have to listen to what kind of sound your uke wants-aldrine guererro but this uke is definitely worth buying...so if you seen one on the internet....dnt hesitate...juss buy it!!!!! =)

Came without a case, wrapped only in bubble wrap with two massive cracks in the wood on top of the body. Fretboad had a great feel however the shape of the body was somehow uncomfortable for me. One inch wider cross bottom comparing to Oscar Schmidt tenor ukulele
