The media could not be loaded.  I am a huge fan of this unit. Its a great upgrade to the MTXR which was my first metal detector. I've been using it in a variety of terrain over the last few weeks after picking it up and encountered a lot of other people using metal detectors with the $800+ price points, and they were very interested in the MTXE and the features it has VS what they paid so much for. What really blew my mind is its a very very close comparison on a lot of the extremely expensive units. The things that I felt like make the best features of the MTXE would be;1. Terrain selector; The ability to quickly switch to common areas, Pasture, park, sand, all metal. It really makes it easy to just grab the detector and start sweeping. I am personally located right by the beach, and just switching it to sand mode, I was able to GRAB AND GO, quickly checking a huge area after some people finished for the day, and I found a ton of change, a few electronics, and some toy cars. What I did NOT find, was garbage, it has a really nice DISC feature to ignore a lot of the trash that accumulates. When I went from SAND to ALL METAL, I started finding the aluminum cans, pull tabs, and other garbage that is fun, but kind of annoying to dig up over and over again.For me, as a moderate novice, newer to metal detecting, its just nice to be able to get the detector and go have some fun sweeping.2. Accuracy; I have a pin-pointer, and I haven't used it in the last few weeks. Its really really accurate and easy to pinpoint the objects underground. I normally sweep several times to get a general approximation, then IF I need to , switch to pinpoint and its always in the basket when sand sifting. I've been out in dirt several times, and the same technique used, I rarely have to get my pin-pointer out, just sweep, zone it in the center, scoop, and check what I scooped and then check the hole.The depth gauge has been very accurate as well. Its a great visual representation of what to expect for depth, and the kit comes with a really nice digger trowel with a depth gauge so you are not going too deep.3. Its really, really lightweight. The shaft is fiberglass, and with the layout of the handle/screen, you really do not even notice using it. Compared to my other units, its a night and day different in fatigue of sweeping. Its featherweight in my hands and allows for continued sweeping when before I had to take some breaks because of the weight.4. Powerful! I've learned to turn down the sensitivity because it has a great range of pickup. Its very nice to be able to get accurate and quick readings when sweeping without having to worry too much about angle/height of the units. If I am within a reasonable distance to the ground, I get perfect hits. I am pretty tall, so it was nice being able to have a relaxed hold on the unit and get perfect results.5.. Full kit; You get the detector, a nice carrying bag (I've been using it for a treasure bag too) A very nice set of headphones with braded cables, and the digging trowel that comes with a sheath so you can attach it to your belt or bag very quickly. I really like the quality of these items, they feel very well made, and the digging trowel is incredibly useful with the serrated edge for cutting through turf, and the depth gauge on the backside to give an approximate digging depth.My overall takeaway from this is; Its a great upgrade if you have an older beginner unit, or if you are getting into metal detecting like myself. The price point is really amazing considering the technology going into it. When I met a lot of "Old timers" while I was out sweeping, they asked and I let them give it a try. I could tell they were very impressed and totally blown away when I told them how inexpensive it was. One guy said, " When I got into this, a unit like that was more than a paycheck " Its incredibly how much power is now available without breaking the bank.I would definitely recommend the MTXE for ANYONE looking to get into detecting. Don't waste your time with units that have no terrain selection, as it really made a huge different to me and made me enjoy my time sweeping much more.I've had this a little over two weeks, I've been out around 15 hours of sweep time, so my review will be ongoing as I plan to get some nice field use videos and some photos of my loot so far.

The detector was easy to assemble and is also easy to use. It is lightweight and accurate. Found a ring the first time out.

I received a Dr Ötek MT-XE detector set from my kids for Christmas. I have to say, I can’t remember a gift that I’ve gotten any more enjoyment from than this metal detector. I’ve been amazed at the quality of the unit, the signal is great, and I’ve had no issues whatsoever locating stuff with it. I Love the extra features that’s availabile at my fingertips at all times. . The pinpoint setting is my favorite!!!!! I highly recommend this unit for anyone looking for a great performer like this versatile and reliable detector, and especially considering it’s available every.single day on Amazon at a very reasonable price !!

Bought this as a first metal detector for myself and it pretty easy to understand. On my second time out I found a musket/pistol ball from the mid 1800's so I'll say it finds things! Worth the money. Light weight as well.

I like the weight of this product was easy to assemble I gave it 3 stars because the headphone didn’t work and it goes off every few seconds they say it’s due to the minerals in the ground it will flip from one mineral to another in the same spot I used my wedding ring to test it by putting it on a rock it still bounced between 3 minerals

I didn't need it I let the Utilities do there job.

I ordered this for my grandson for Christmas. It is so easy to assemble and easy to operate. I’ve only taken it outside in the yard learning how to detect and measure depth. I can’t wait to go treasure hunting with my grandson. It’s easy to fold down and make more compact. The digging tool it comes with is super sturdy and strong. The bag fits all the accessories inside of it. I would suggest getting one of the small handheld finders, it’s hard to find things in the dirt pile.

The media could not be loaded.  El detector está muy bueno primero porque el precio bajo segundo funciona perfectamente coge señales aún que este a más de 20 centímetros y el pinpoint detecta justo donde está el objeto me encanta la máquina lo único cuando esté en la playa si lo usas en la orilla de la playa hay que ponerlo en modo playa si no te volverás loco si lo usas en la playa en la arena seca puedes usarlo en modo normal no falla ni da señales falsas. Me he encantado como funciona y más que con una señal de 22-25 será una moneda de 1 o 2 céntimos

Mein 12-jähriger Sohn hatte sich sehr für das Sondieren interessiert und ich habe lange gestöbert und versucht zu vergleichen um ein gutes Gerät zu finden, dass für einen Anfänger geeignet ist und Spaß macht. Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen bin ich auf dieses Gerät gestoßen und habe es gekauft. Mein Sohn kommt gut damit zurecht, es funktioniert einwandfrei. Die Menüs sind teilweise nicht so leicht zu verstehen, man muss öfters in die mittelmässige Anleitung schauen. Aber man kommt zurecht. Natürlich sind Profigeräte vermutlich sehr viel leistungsfähiger was die Sondiertiefe angeht etc. aber für den Einstieg ist das Gerät gut geeignet und kein Vergleich zu den "Kinder-Schrottgeräten", die auch angeboten werden. Diese vermiesen einem nur die Lust an dem Hobby in kürzester Zeit. Fazit: Meiner Ansicht nach eine gute Wahl für den Anfänger, der es erstmal ausprobieren möchte. Wir haben schon etliche Kronkorken, Nägel und sogar einige Geldstücke damit gefunden.

My thoughts on the MTXE:The kit provided (whole set) is decent – headphones are very comfortable, and even the shovel is of good quality. I had expected it to be weak due to the weight, but it’s sturdy. The machine itself is very light, but appears to be well made, with good, solid component parts. Its lightness is a real feature, making it much easier for kids. I’ve been out with mu daughter with other child-friendly kits and this one is much lighter. It is adjustable in length so would suit adults or kids.It is simple to use, with a good, user-friendly interface and intuitive settings – different modes for park, pasture, beach. It even has a night mode which lights up the display. With other machines I have had to come in when the sun gets low – this would give a bit more time. It also has a very good battery life, obviously depending on the battery, but seems to be c. 3.5 hrs. The screen is waterproof, so you don’t need to buy an extra cover, which I always find annoying on my other machine.In terms of performance, it is also decent. It picks up small items well, at a reliable depth of c. 6-7 inches. It can go deeper, depending on the object, but is less reliable as expected. I also wouldn’t expect kids to be digging that far down. The machine must be swung slowly though, so patience wins out here. Some items are missed if the swing is too fast. I was surprised by the quality of the iron discrimination – pretty impressive at this price-range, and a must if you’re a beginner who doesn’t want to dig 100% junk. Experienced detectorists know to aim for 99% junk!In summary – this is an excellent machine and kit for the money, an ideal starter giving you everything you need initially. As one gets into it, you’d need to eventually upgrade. But if it’s for a beginner just wanting to dip their toes in, or for a child, this kit gives you a very good start. I’d say comparable to the Garret ace series, but a more appropriate buy for kids.
