Q: how often do you need to empty the drip trays? We just got one and it asks for the drip trays to be emptied after every use, which is a pain.

Fairly regularly but not that regular! Check that you are inserting the bin which holds the waste coffee grinds after initially inserting the tray. I sometimes find the drip tray warning comes on if the bin isn't all the way home. Also check no coffee grinds are collecting in the grove behind where the bin sits, you will see a small round magnet on the back of the bin which located in the grove at the back of the machine. Hope this helps.

Q: does this model have the home connect function?

No. That one is the ctl636es6 if I remember correctly. It'll cost you another £200 or so. I couldn't see the point. I went for the Series 8 oven with Home Connect because I saw more value to that.

Q: How should the coffee waste / pucks looks ? They come out like sludge, I am sure they used to be like solid round pucks as they are called ?

Yes they should be compacted into nice round pucks. You could try fresh beans if yours have been in there a while. The oils dry out of the beans after a while which can cause problems.

Q: Does the milk splash/spit out when making coffee? Had this 3 months & happy with it, nozzles spit milk marking the interior, annoying, does yours?
