OTTERBOX Commuter Series Carrying Case for Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini - Retail Packaging - Glacier

I have to say I will never go back to another case for all future cellphones after using this one. It fits like a glove and is very sturdy. I once slipped in the ice and unknowingly had my phone fall out of my pocket and into the snow. I didn't realize it until later in the day but the phone was buried in snow for over 10 hours. By the time I found it, not only did the phone still work, but was about 98% dry with only a small amount of melted snow in between the plastic shell and rubber covering. This $15 case protected my phone from the snow for over 10 hrs and prevented me from buying a new $200-300 phone. I love this case and will never use anything else other than an otterbox from now own. I have also dropped my phone multiple times and never had so much as a scratch to the phone body or screen. Very easy to apply and recommend getting a tempered glass screen protector for further protection.

I think that the OtterBox was a great choice as far as protection, it's very sturdy. I did have a bit of trouble getting the stick on clear protector for the screen on without bubbles. I was able to get it on smoothly after 2 tries. The only down side was that it only came in black or white. Since my husband was also interested in getting one and he wanted black (we have the same phone) I was stuck with the white, so we could tell our phones apart. It would have been nice to have a few other color choices.

Otterbox is our go-to brand so when mom finally went to a smart phone we knew what to get her. The commuter case came with a screen protector that was terrible. It is probably just old since this is for an older model phone. We bought something else. The case itself is great. We just wished that they had more color options like they do for the new model phones.

This was originally a 1 star review, 8 months later I’m changing it to 5 stars. I’ve dropped my phone several times, usually on concrete, and it is unharmed. Yes the screen protector film was a joke but I can’t argue with the net result. Ultimately a good investment! Original Review: Instructions for applying the "screen protector" (Bwahahahaha) consist of a 4 panel cartoon, no text, printed on half of a wrapper of JuicyFruit gum. The adhesive covered plastic "screen protector" (Bwahahahaha) becomes a opaque film of bubbles on the screen. Removing it leaves patches of immovable adhesive, no really, really immovable adhesive. So I've put the "screen protector" (Bwahahahaha) back on hoping the bubbles work themselves out. I am not hopeful and I am not pleased with this product.

This was a gift for my Mom. The case itself seemed pretty good, but the clear plastic static plastic cover sheet was very difficult to apply. It almost seemed the it was cut a little too big for the phone screen. Apply it while getting no bubbles, while also getting all of the edges to lay flat onto the screen was a major challange.

Durable I've dropped my phone many times

This cracked the 2nd time it was dropped on an indoor wood floor. It only fell about 2-3 feet both times when my child dropped it while sitting on our sofa and high chair. I expected MUCH BETTER QUALITY from an Otterbox, even if it's a Commuter Series case vs the more expensive lines meant for heavy duty use.

This developed hairline cracks just from removing the case to clean the phone about a month after receiving it. One crack now goes about halfway across the back, and I'll be shopping for another one soon because if it drops, it's going to crack right in half. This is my second Otterbox, and my last.
