The Sea to Summit Eclipse Glove is a fingerless paddle glove that offers excellent protection against the sun and helps prevent blisters on the long distance days. A soft, supple, synthetic leather palm material helps you maintain contact with a postive grip. Contoured, double layer palm and thumb area increase durabilty. UPF50+ stretch fabric on the back of the hands provide a comfortable fit and help protect against the sun. 2mm neoprene cuff with hook-and-loop closure helps maintain flexibility in the wrist and provide a secure fit.

Great paddling specific gloves
I've tried bicycle gloves (too much padding, slow to dry, sloppy fit when wet) and fly fishing gloves (not form fitting enough, bulky, slow to dry). These gloves have exquisite fit and low bulk needed to protect hands from blisters and callouses. Without any leather construction and padding they should dry relatively quick.I usually wear a women's large or size 7 glove. The medium fits perfect. Although they feel a little snug when first putting them on I hardly noticed them when paddling. The close fit keeps them from wrinkling or bunching up on the fingers. There is a small stretchy insert between all the fingers and the thumb that provides a little give. They were very comfortable and I hardly knew I had them on as they retained fit and shape while wet. This is my first pair of paddling specific gloves but they worked so well that I don't think I'll be worrying about other brands when they wear out. I will buy these again if they are still available.

Love the fit and construction, but still gave me blisters.
Giving these 3 stars because they're good quality gloves and fit me perfectly, but they still had issues (for me). I bought them to use for kayaking to reduce the friction on my hands when using a carbon paddle (the shaft has ridges on it that chafe over time). Like some reviewers have mentioned, I ended up with blisters (I didn't get blisters barehanded). The reason for my blisters is that the shaft of the paddle wants to "settle" in right where the cuttoff fingers meet the second crease of my finger. If the finger material extended to one more knuckle (leaving just the end of the fingers exposed), it would be perfect for me. I'm going to continue using the gloves and see if my fingers toughen up or or perhaps adjust my paddling technique. Or I may have to switch to full-fingered gloves. I'll report back.Update:Well, a kayak fishing day every week for a couple months toughened up my hands. I haven't had blisters since my previous post. LOVE these gloves. I checked them after my recent trip, to see if it was time to order new ones, but they're still in great shape.Increased to 5 stars.

Very Handy
Bought these for a 4 day sea kayaking adventure off Vancouver island. Had never kayaked before. I put these on at the beginning of the day, and then forgot about them. Never had a blister, kept the sun off my hands. and dried out quickly when wet. While I don't know much about kayaking, I do know bike gloves. These are thinner, of course, and have different padding. But as good quality as my good bike gloves.

Great for kayaking
Protects palms from paddles and protects the tops of hands from the sun. My hands are pretty small (7 inches circumference around my hand/palm), and the smallest size was still a bit loose on me. Still nice to have something inexpensive and practical while paddling

Probably received a factory seconds pair of gloves
The gloves seem like they would be comfortable and work well.Disappointed in quality control of the Sea-to-Summit kayak gloves I received. The stitching along the wrist was unraveling upon receipt. This should have been noticed prior to shipment. $30 for a pair of inferior quality gloves is absurd. Sent feedback to the seller, but I received a message from Amazon that "there is a problem with the recipient's email system." My guess is that Light-Up-Deals buys factory seconds and sells them at full price. Planning to send this pair back.I will update this review if I receive a response from the seller.

Liked enough to buy again
My first pair are still going after three seasons of sea kayaking. Okay, so they are a bit worn enough that I bought a second pair but have not had to bring the second pair out yet. The gloves are comfortable, keep my hands from becoming leather on the back side from too much sun and no blisters on the palm side. I have a few other items from Sea to Summit and am so far very happy with all products they produce. Please keep up the good work!

Great summer hiking gloves
So, I use these for summer hiking to prevent raw hands for trekking poles and for grip while scrambling. I know this isnt their intended purpose but they are the best, most durable option I have found that are light and breatne well. I sweat a lot, so my hands are inevitably wet. I need the extra protection while using something that deals well with being wet in warm conditions. They have saved my hands for many slip/fall related injuries as well.

Need a full hand protection
Good quality and protects the palm of my hands well. Doesn't protect the tip of the fingers. I didn't think that it would be an issue but I have blisters
