Schmidt's Deodorant Stick Bergamot + Lime 3.25 oz (Pack of 2) - Free of Aluminum, Vegan, Natural and Cruelty-Free

In the early 90s, I started getting the yips about aluminum in deodorants, so I started using Tom's of Maine and Jayson all natural deodorants. I used them for some twenty years, but they never really worked well for very long. Usually, at the end of the day I'd be fairly ripe, but it seemed like a fair trade-off given that I still have it in the back of my mind that Right Guard and Old Spice might possibly give me Alzheimer's. So, at some point in my early forties, I started developing a reaction/rash to every "natural" deodorant I'd try, and I quit using it altogether for awhile- which, quite obviously, stank. At one of my daughter's friends birthday held at a Lush natural cosmetics store, I was making small talk with the cashier, and mentioned my problem to her. She suggested this patchouli bar, that they cut off of a large patchouli deodorant log, and wrap in butcher's paper. Cute. It worked, and I didn't have a reaction to it, but the downside was that it had a strong patchouli odor, and though an aging punk rocker, I smelled like I was ready for a day of frisbee, hacky sack, weed, and Phish. Not cool, but I dealt. Through the magic of Facebook marketing, I became aware of Schmidt's. Willing to try anything to shed the hippie stank, I gave it a try. I'm a month in, I haven't had a reaction, and it works all day long. I chose the bergamot-lime, because I use a lime cologne. It has a pleasant odor. I heartily recommend this product, and will become a regular purchaser.

Seriously, I've never smelled a stronger or better citrus deodorant. I use and love Schmidt's deodorants, and now my family uses it as well after smelling this and using it once when I was the only one who didn't forget to pack deodorant for a trip. We got tired of the standard deodorants that apparently work best by just plugging up your skin. Yes, we endured the unpleasantly stinky transition process from those to Schmidt's and similar natural deodorants, but it was worth it. Big time. You miss a day with the usual deo and you and everyone around you will know it very quickly. I can go a day and a half to two days with a swipe of the natural deodorants with nothing near the air pollution coming from my pits that came from forgetting to lather up with the "usual" stuff. And when the directions say not to over-apply, there's a reason. Well, a couple reasons. 1) you're way more likely to get irritated skin under your arms if you put too much on (usually because of the baking soda, from what I've read), and 2) that's all it takes for it to work properly. No, maybe it doesn't work for everyone. What product other than (clean) water does? But Schmidt's deodorants work very well for me and my family, and Bergamot-Lime is by far our favorite scent. I'm not getting any special rewards or anything to shill for Schmidt's, I just like their product and have finally taken the time to write a review about it.

I've tried at least 10 different aluminum free, natural deodorants and this is the only one that has worked for me. In my experience and others I've convinced to switch, you'll experience a few week transition period where you might get a little red or even a slight rash. I've heard people think it was like detoxing out the garbage in their old product. Everyone I know that rides out that initial irritation has come out the other end being very happy. You don't smell even after a long day including adding a workout in. It doesn't claim to be an antiperspirant, but I definitely think it helps. I wear business casual and business professional for work and even then it works great. Wearing a suit is often worse than a long workout as far as pitting out and this has worked great for me. One other thing that is a slight negative, it can go on a little crumbly. You need to kind of warm it up to melt it to your skin or something. I'm used to it now so I just hold it there for a few seconds then it's fine. They have it at Target now and often it is cheaper than it is on Amazon.

Well I had to write a short review, I’m 66 yrs old and I’m very sensitive to a lot of products and have gone thru ALOT of deodorants.So out of all of the past ones. This ones the best. Great clean smell don’t have to use a lot I rub it with my fingers in order to not get it on my clothes. My favorite is the bergamot#lime. I’ll be useing this one for the rest of my life. If anyone was bothered by the feel the smell the ruff little out meal particals.I say keep on searching, you will find ur kind. As I did.😆 also this reminds me and feels like the gd old fashion deodorants they use to make before all these chemicals

I originally purchased this at a pharmacy and just ordered my second one here on Amazon. Important: If you don’t read and follow the instructions you will have an issue with irritation. Once I realized I needed to warm the product with skin contact before spreading AND that I didn’t need nearly as many strokes as I did with conventional deodorant, I never had an issue again. I take off the lid and place the tip in my left armpit, then clamp down with my arm and let it sit there while I brush my teeth with my other hand. Once it has warmed a bit, I move it slowly for 3-4 strokes, put the container down, drop my arm and move it back and forth to spread the product around. It will feel gritty for a moment. Then repeat on the other side. This stuff is miraculous for odor and wetness and totally worth figuring out. At the end of the day, my shirts smell just as fresh as they did when I put them on in the morning. My armpits have zero odor anymore. I just can’t get over it! Before this product, I tried many other types...Mitchum, Dove, Secret, Crystal Mineral deodorants, Degree. None hold a candle to this product.

The deodorant isn’t bad. It did however irritate my skin causing me to stop using it. I wish there was another scent other than lime.

Love this product and works great on sensitive skin. But gets old fast on the shelf, dries out & hardens with nasty rough chunks
