Oman for three years and loved this beautiful country
We lived in Muscat, Oman for three years and loved this beautiful country. The Dhow Sultan reminds us of the ships in harbor there. So far, my husband has had no problem with construction. The shipment arrived on date stated and in good condition. The price was very reasonable compared to others shops.

Beautiful 1/60th Sambuq (dhow) -but no Plans lets the whole model down. Also bankruptcy.
Having already seen a large-scale, scratchbuilt Dhow model up close, I was enticed or lured to buy one instead of the somewhat inaccurate-looking 1/72nd Trieres (Greek trireme) listed here in amazon. Once complete, it'll replicate either an Omani or Kuwait registered Sambuq from the mid 20th Century complete with canopies, pennants, boxes, bunting and other small details that make these things come alive. No human figures available at 1/60th scale unless you scratch them .. oh well.Recommended at this price. However...Be aware that Artesiana's website claims this model is 1/85th scale. ---here on amazon it is claimed to be 1/34th. It is actually 1/60th.More importantly -- this may be a dealbreaker for you -- there are NO scale plans. Just a nice full colour instruction set/parts list.Edit: Artesiania have gone bankrupt. Since these sambuqs are in increasingly short supply, if you see one snap it up. Its a nice kit.
