My husband bought this for me for Christmas. I was super excited about it because it is a fun idea. There is a lot wrong with the product. You will have to charge it everyday, you can’t sync the time and date correctly, the faces get frozen on the screen to where it won’t change expression. The worst part is that it disconnected to the internet and now can not be reconnected because it won’t acknowledge that there is a plant in the pot. Not worth what you pay for just a pot.

First off, I would like to say that a lot of thought went into this product. All of the ideas that are integrated into it are great. You have to touch it to make it happy. It reacts to the things that you do and it tells you when your plant needs water and does or doesn’t have enough sunlight, it has emotions and tells you when it’s happy and when it’s not and sleeps and does a decent job of analyzing the environment for your plant. With that said it is very small. I understand that the technology involved here is probably not cheap but it’s so small that it was difficult for me to even find a plant to put in it and it’s still too big…big price tag small package, if I would’ve bought this product, I definitely would have sent it back just because of how small it is. 🙃

Cute, but small. Fun, but doesn't hold a charge very well. I put it on my windowsill and after a day or so it needed another charge. So unless you have it near an outlet it's a bit of a pain to keep Ivy being Ivy and not just a regular pot. An app is required which is a bit fussy to use. There are a limited amount of plants you can choose from for the smart watering feature (which mine wasn't on). Also, you cannot plant things from seed unless you manually tell it a plant is inside, so the smart features will not work as well, which I feel like is a missed opportunity. I still like the idea of a plant being more like a pet, because I treat my plants that way already. But I feel like some improvements can be made.

I got this as a test item because honestly there's no way I would justify the cost of something like this when it can only handle a single tiny plant. I have a succulent in mine and it's cute and works fine, but it would not in my opinion work well enough for a higher maintenence plant. Maybe if they had an external reservoir the device could drink from it would be okay. As far as battery, I like that it has an external battery in case of loss of power, but don't rely on this thing working long away from an outlet. So if you want essentially a tamagachi plant this is great, but just like the toy, plan on attending to it on a daily basis.

Selected this flower pot as sort of a joke gift. It is actually pretty interesting. The instructions could be improved with respect to explaining the expressions. Only a few are shown in the pamphlet and there certainly a lot more. We are uncertain what they all mean. I did have some difficulty adding it to our network as it kept dropping offline at first. After resetting and trying again, it has been very stable and the phone app allows you to monitor several basics (temp, light, water, etc). Yeah, we now find ourselves talking to the flower pot...

I'm not happy with it. It's cordless and utilizes wi-fi, but the battery runs out completely after 48 hours. While charging, there is no light indicator that tells you if the battery is fully charged. The cute little faces don't show up at random, rather only when you turn in back on (it shuts off/ sleeps automatically after 3 minutes). I wouldn't recommend it. UPDATE: I've had to amend my rating to just one star. I realized later that it works better if you keep it plugged in and for about 24 hours it was very cute. At night I would see it's eyes closed and sleeping, and once in a while I would see it eating or drinking. However, after 24 hours the thing shut down completely. There is no longer anything on the screen; I've switched plug outlets and I've tried everything to get it to turn on again, but alas.

I was so excited for this little thing! I never imagined it would be a death trap for my pothos cutting. I have about 150 houseplants and thought this would be a fun little addition to the collection. But, it doesn’t work. The price is outrageous for something that appears to be broken. I have tried to reboot and reinstall, to no avail. It’s too bad. Now the little plant I had in it is completely dead (shriveled up after the pic was taken) when it was thriving prior to transferring it to this thing. Pretty sure it caused root rot. Such a bummer.

Yes, it’s very small, as everyone else points out. So small in fact that I didn’t even bother getting a plant, I went straight for the seeds. Some chilly seeds. I am now a proud father to 5 beautiful chilly plants. Here’s my first disappointment: You must select your plant from a very limited list of just 45 plants.You can’t say it’s none of them, nor just to treat it as a general plant, you are forced to select one of those. That being said, just for this review I’ve gone back in to count them and noticed they’ve actually added 9 new plant types since I’ve started using it (about 28 days ago) . All the new ones are practical plants such as : Avocado, mint, basil , parsley, etc. This is quite encouraging as they seem to understand the limitations and are happy to add new ones. Big ups. I have had no connectivity issues. It will display a message when it’s losing connection but that has always been because my router updated overnight and it did cut the connection briefly. I didn’t have to reconnect it the next morning, it just told me it lost connection, I pressed OK and was back in business. The animations are very fluent. I was worried they’d be a bit jarring but they’re quite good and it definitely gives the plant a personality. Although expensive, I think it’s great for children as it makes the learning journey interesting and fun. I mean I’m 30 and I’ve learned from it , all of my previous plants died in my care…it was definitely me.

Aber leider ließ sich das Gerät gar nicht erst einrichten... stundenlang hat er angezeigt es seien nur 1ml im Topf, obwohl er voll war. Pflanze erkennt er auch nicht. App ständig offline. Viele Funktionen gehen nicht...und nach ein paar Stunden, bleibt der Bildschirm leer (siehe Bild) keiner der Tasten funktioniert mehr und der Kundenservice ist ein Witz... tolles Weihnachtsgeschenk. Geht zurück, denn mehr als Schrott ist es nicht.

I got this as it reminded me of the old tamagotchi (little electronic toy pet that you had to take care of) but this is a far more mature and practical equivalent. It's easy to setup and does include it's own app. You can also link it to Alexa which is a big plus. For best results it does need to be plugged in all the time. When setting up you can select the specific plant to help with calibration so it knows how much light/ water / heat it needs. If you are bad at gardening and keep killing off pot plants this could really make life easier for you. The pot is plastic and a little flimsy, but the colour is bold and the screen will display different faces depending on the plant environment. You will have to study the faces as they're not always obvious what they correspond to. If in doubt though ask Alexa or check the app. The Mrs loved it as it is very quirky and adds a bit of fun to the room as a little character. Best of all you're not just wasting time you are actually taking care of a plant that will grow and prosper. So it's great for kids. Good quality Recommended. The only negative is that the pot is quite small and for what it is the price is quite high. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful
