when you buy a fancy looking laptop you want your accessories to match and this works beautifully with my white xps 9370 and an external screen (works with s8 too)

After one year of light use it started to show some bad horizontal glitch lines and often missing connection between the laptop and projector!! Do not buy it guys.***** UPDATE ***** At least their customer service is working fine. They sent me a new one. Thanks for that!!

I bought this to give my Note 9 DEX mode a try to see if it was something I wanted to do. It does have the limitation of not allowing 4k output (requires something that charges the phone while in DEX mode) and also limits you to 5 active apps, DEX mode will close the first opened app when you launch a 6th app (again requires a powered connection to charge the phone for this to work). I was aware of these limitation before buying; however I made the purchase to test functionality before paying for the DEX dock.Other than the above, this cable is great, works immediately on connection, phone screen mirroring, DEX mode, DEX mode plus phone, and DEX mode plus phone as a touch pad, all on my Note 9. On the Galaxy 8+ it only works for screen mirroring, both devices are Verizon and fully up to date.The Cable is thick, durable, and feels of a good quality, the larger HDMI connector (for the TV/Monitor) is rather large and only barely fits in the monitor HDMI connection, as it is recessed so a cover can be put over the cables. barely as in less than half a cm extra space to be able to plug it in, the cover will not go back on at all while the cable is connected. This also causes issues on my TV as it is up against a wall and the connection is such that the cable sticks straight out of the back of the TV. Thankfully, I was able to move the TV away from the wall a bit more to get the cable in and out.I would recommend this as a good solution for anyone not wanting to get the DEX dock, or as a portable solution allowing you to leave your dock at home/in the office while traveling.
