1/4 inch inlet Indicator
This was for Nitrogen gas with 1/4” Female Flare Inlet Connection and 1/4” Male Flare Outlet Connection. It is about 7 inches long. It is the same shape as another regulator I own. This flow indicator does not have a psi gauge for the tank itself so its only function is to dose the amount of gas coming out of the "regulator". The flow indicator seems to be made mostly out of brass. The top gauge is made out of clear plastic that is heavy duty. It has a silver ball that hovers at the set gas rate. Overall this "regulator" seems to feel well built and heavy duty. It does have a 1 year warranty which is important because you could have a leak and Nitrogen is lighter than air. It seems like they trust there flow indicator to performance well for a long time considering the generous long warranty.

CONTROL THE VOLUME OF GAS
Using gas from a high pressure cylinder requires a step down regulator to reduce the tank pressure of 2500 psi to working pressures of 5 to 20 psi. The regulator only controls the pressure, but only allows a rough estimate of the volume of gas. The addition of a flowmeter or flow control allows you to adjust the volume of gas. These are useful in gas welding and other applications requiring a measured volume of gas such as MIG and TIG welding and other industrial applications. I use this in combination with a regulator for my MIG Welder and a TIG Welder when I purchase one. Nitrogen- although expensive can be used to run compressed air tools such as in NASCAR. YOU KNOW... when they change tires on pit row. I threw that in for free. Most often used in MIG and TIG welding, this flowmeter does a good job of metering the proper volume of nitrogen. I can be used with other gasses but you will need to adjust to best performance rather than using the scale because it is calibrated for nitrogen. I am very pleased with this product and its performance in my shop.

High cost compared to other RX Weld Flow Indicators with more value
I own about 60 to 70 regulators for various gasses, hydrogen being the weirdest, so I am familiar with CGA fittings and flow indicators for welding/brazing/lab use. This was sold at a cost of $26 when I created this review, and that's not a very good value at all. RX Weld (the brand for this product) has another product for $17 - also an inert gas flow indicator, but with a high pressure side gauge and a CGA-580 fitting on the high pressure side... so for $9 less, you get a lot more value. I don't see why this flow indicator warrants a higher price.Pros:All brass body - standardCons:No CGA connectorONLY accurate @ 50 PSI - an ambiguous statement. There is no documentation with the item to explain if 50PSI means 50PSI on the outlet side will be maintained, or if it means 50PSI on the inlet side is required to get an accurate flow rate on the ball. Its sort of marketed for HVAC people so they can see the nitrogen is flowing during brazing of copper tubing, but HVAC techs normally have a tiny little 30cubic foot bottle anyway, and you can head the gas flowing through an HP/LP regulator, because the diaphragm wobbles and makes noise. Moreover the flow indicator feels a lot cheaper than the other ones I have used for oxygen or argon.
