Happy 75th Anniversary, Wham-O
I was glad to see Wham-O return to making products in the USA, if only for this very limited 75th Anniversary model. It's for this particular model that I'm giving a 5-star review. Not surprisingly, this particular Frisbee is solidly built and feels like the Frisbees we grew up with. Good job by Wham-O to give this nod to their past, if only for a brief time.As for the Wham-O company itself, for the last 20 years or so it's been less than 5 stars. Sadly, while other classic toys like Slinky and Silly Putty have remained made in the USA, Wham-O was one of the first companies to move all of its manufacturing years ago. In addition to cheap labor who's working in who-knows-what conditions, they started using cheap plastic, they took away the distinctive ridges, and otherwise became indistinguishable from the endless no-name brands flooding Amazon.I hope this ushers in an era where Wham-O starts to produce at least some models back in the USA again, but I'm not holding my breath. In the meantime, the mantel of "best flying disc" doesn't go to Frisbee anymore but to Discraft and up-and-coming USA companies like Activ Life.
