DOW CORNING Sylgard 182 LONG POT LIFE / HEAT CURE Silicone (Polydimethylsiloxane, PDMS) Elastomer Encapsulation Kit. 2-part, clear/transparent, 10:1 mix ratio, heat cure, good strength, good flame resistance. Mixable by hand or by automatic mixing/dispensing method. Sylgard 182 is primarily intended to be a heat cured encapsulate due to its very slow curing time at room temperature. Working Time (Pot Life) at 25ºC (77ºF, room temperature) of Sylgard 182 is 8 hours. Curing time of Sylgard 182 at 25ºC (77ºF) is 336 hours or 14 DAYS. The curing time is, however, greatly accelerated with application of heat during curing. Curing time at 100ºC (212º) is reduced to 75 minutes and higher temperatures reduce curing time further (see Specifications below). It is possible to reduce the room temperature curing time by application of heat, however, if a shorter curing time encapsulate than Sylgard 182 is desired, (Sylgard 184, which we also sell in our Store should be used instead since it has a curing time at 25ºC (77ºF) of 48 HOURS, however, pot life is much less for Sylgard 184 at approximately 1.4 hours at 25ºC (77ºF)).
