Better than the Anime
(Review by the 21 year-old brother of this account user)Frankly, I don't know why they haven't decided to make an Anime based on the Manga! The story is considerably darker, the characters have more personality to them, they stay as close to the original Video Game story as possible, and it's far less repetitive than the Anime. I'm glad that I decided to collect the entire Manga series!

Pokemon adventures
In the 8th volume we are now in the Jotho region. Gold his the new main character. Professor Elm having been robbed let borrow, well didn't really get a choice, cyndaquill to Gold. Silver have stolen Totodile and now Gold is on his trail to try to get it back. As well as his missing poliwag since previously, his bag have been stolen. He mangage to get it back but poliwag wasn't there. So far Gold not trying to earn any gym badge and catching up to Silver at the sprout tower he learn a bit more about Silver. Maybe he's not so mutch of a bad guys after all.

Another great Pokemon story!
This volume centers on Pokemon Gold and Silver. It is particularly appropriate given you can get the Pokemon SoulSilver Version and Pokemon HeartGold Version Nintendo DS games. My son is addicted to this series which is quite plentiful in Japanese. We are really happy they are finally translating these for mass release. The stories are interesting and keep my son reading continuously. It's a great way to introduce a reluctant reader to reading - especially if they like to videogame as well and have played the Pokemon games.

Pokemon Adventures volume 8
So Pokemon Adventures volume 8 and the first part of the Gold/Silver/Crystal Arc.The adventure begins with our new hero Gold chasing down the shadowy Silver after he stole a Totodile from Professor Elm's lab, taking him from New Bark Town to the Ilex Forest. Personally Gold is nowhere as interesting as Red and is kind of bland, Silver is the real stand out character in this volume.Other notable characters that appear are Professor Elem, Falkner, Bugsy and Kurt. We are also introduced to a new mysterious villain who appears before Gold at the end of the volume. If your a fan of the Pokemon Adventures manga then its a must have however you might be disappointed by the change in art style and the tonal shift from the Red/Blue/Yellow arc to something more 'kiddie'.

Kids Enjoy the books
Bought for my kids as the enjoy reading them and have the previous and some of the following volumes, could do with being a bit cheaper and the fact they seem to be printed back to front confused me but kids said thats how they are.
