Additionally whilst telling this sad tale up my local one night I find out ...
Delivered on time & well packaged, connected ok and did start to transfer files then gave up ! No matter what you it did it started to transfer then stopped ? I'm certainly no techie on computers but my son who's currently studying A level computer / programming couldn't get it to work either ... He wanted to do this & that to it but I wouldn't let him .... It's brand new !!! So I packed it up & set it back ..... 14 emails later & a week or so later a replacement arrived which I connected & did transfer files ok ..... I'm just keeping my fingers crossed this time .... However I'm still in dispute with supplier regarding the costs involved in returning the faulty item ....... Additionally whilst telling this sad tale up my local one night I find out that two of my mates had suffered similar experiences with identical units ??? Just shows we should have talked about it before as I certainly would not have purchased this particular unit

It does work as advertised but I wish it were more intelligent. I'd prefer that it decided the best video setting for frame rate etc rather than me. That said, despite it's limitations, it works well if you know what you're doing. It also plays well with usb sticks and my 512gb External SSD drive formatted in NTFS. I'd also prefer an LCD that displayed info, but I accept that for the price it does the job. It plays my mkv files with alternative srt and audio file options.

Improved worse by Sumvision.
Bought this to replace a Cyclone MKV player which was brilliant but zapped by my daughter, must be one of the few manufacturers that updates the model for a much worse version. The case is plastic and has no controls on at all so the poor quality remote is essential. I fitted a 2Tb sata drive and connected it to TV - nothing. Connected to computer - nothing. I had to remove the HD and format it on my PC; I then loaded some MKV and MP4 files, reassembled it and reconnected to TV. It would not read the HD, but it was visible via USB on my computer - tried several formats and reloads - nothing. Returned. These either work or they do not - quality control must be non existent when manufactured, Sumvision website is useless. Keep clear unless you are prepared to gamble.TWO DAYS LATERThis may help some people. Just picked up the player from my computer shop where it was bought (Falcon computers-Sunderland-great service) and they found the Primus player will not recognise Toshiba HD drives - swopped mine for a Seagate and everything is fine and dandy. For some reason, beyond me, the primus cannot use the disc management on Toshiba drives so if you are having problems it might be worth checking.
