Chunky, about penny size

Good Quality
This is a pretty small bag of orchid bark, but it is very high quality, large chunks of bark, with very few really small pieces. It was easy to mix with my potting soil to make it chunkier.

Nice chunky medium
I ordered this for amending soil for some tropical houseplants that like air pockets for their roots. I'm not super well versed in this area but this is looks like a nice pine bark in a size that wasn't immediately available in my area stores (they only had XL or composted pine). These appear to be easy to crush to smaller pieces, and I think my plants will enjoy the bit of chunky in their pots.

Seems good quality, good size
First time buying bark. I liked the size was big enough as I wanted and it seems to be a good addition to my potting mix.

Buyer Beware- MOLD
!!Warning before you go & toss this bark in your beloved houseplants!! Yes, the price for the amount of bark is great. When it arrived though as soon as I opened the bag that gross, moldy mildew smell hit me right away & strong. I soaked the bark 3 times in Hypochlorous acid for days which is what I clean with & occasionally use on plants w/ bacterial or fungal issues. After the bark dried completely in the sunlight I could still smell it unfortunately & against my better judgement I went ahead & used just a bit on my huge, healthy & happy Alocasia Tandurusa. 2/3 days later the stem was rotted completely through. I do hate to waste substrates though because I use so much, so I did just put the bark in the oven to make SURE to kill off the mold. However bark is wood so of course it chars & burns in high heat therefore lowering the lifespan before needing replacing. Ironically thats why I was trying Orchiata instead of Fur bark in the 1st place. Lesson learned I guess! From now on I’ll only buy from Tezula because that’s the one highly recommended in the hobby!FYI- if your plant is completely healthy, normally mold won’t cause any issues at all, however when you’re repotting your plant becomes stressed (Alocasia & Calathea for example will stress out much more than some others) & THEN they are extremely susceptible to pathogens. So of course, the LAST thing you want is the substrate you’re putting said plant in introducing new & nasty pathogens.

Nice chonky bark
This is a great value for orchid bark. I needed some larger bark but I didn't want to buy a big bag of the expensive name brand pine bark (in the pink bag). This matches up really well. The bark is nice solid chunks with very little dust and no debris. The chunks are relatively uniform sizes. (Important to preserve air inside the orchid's pot. Little pieces fill in the air holes and lead to root rot.) Also, this stuff is bone dry, which is important because I am going to need to store about half this bag. Any moisture in there would make it break down faster. If you get this bark, I'd recommend pouring boiling water over it and letting it soak in for a day before draining and potting up an orchid with it. So I'm really happy with this bark and would recommend it for high quality and low price.

I ended up throwing it away because the stench was unbearable.""I purchased this product for use with my orchid plants, but unfortunately, it emitted such a strong, unpleasant moldy odor that it filled the room. Nice and chunky with no dust
I like using bark to pot my orchids to anchor their roots in place without restricting air flow since they really don't need soil. This bark is solid, nice and chunky, and with hardly any dust and small bits. It had a chemcal-like smell to it I could not quite place when I opened the bag, but now that it has breathed, I cannot detect it. Nice color and size. This could also be used to amend soil to add organics to an inorganic mix for bonsai material or regular potting soil to make it less dense, though perlite would be a better choice to help lighten soil to drain more freely. Overall impression is it's a good value and I would get it again.
