Though the knob is fine, the arrows are ALL scratched. Now bear in mind that for most of us replacing the scratched knob is the reason why we buy this so the whole purpose is defeated

For the BMW X6 E71, you're going to need a little modification. What you're going to need is use some thin M3 tape, wrap it around your existing knob for this to snug around it. If you don't do that, this will fit very loose, and will not only look bad, but will get you very frustrated! Once you modify it, it looks great! How the seller, doesn't pick up on this I'm going to give it four stars! But I do recommend it.

Beautiful crystal idrive knob, but not for F80/82 idrive with 7 buttons. Based on the instructions on Youtube it was easy to install. Unfortunately it did not fit. It was not designed to work with the F80/82 BMW. I give it 3 stars because of be beauty and how nice it looks. Just would not work on my BMW. Fortunately, I did not destroy my idrive trying to install this, so my idrive still works. Make sure you do not destroy your idrive in case this does not work for your car. I would have sent back but waited too late to install. Once again it is a beautiful product and does not look cheap. Just did not work for me.

What I was looking for was an actual replacement for the center console media knob since mine is heavily worn out. When I got this I was initially confused since it was much larger than what I was expecting since the title listed as compatible with bmw 3 series. Then i realized this thing is actually a COVER for the ENTIRE KNOB. Basically, you place this OVER the actual knob like a lid. While the title does say cover, i was assuming it meant the BUTTON cover (the black disk with the arrows) not an actual cover over the knob cover. Since the inside seems like some type of foam to grip the knob I don't know how durable it is, like how long it will last before the whole thing loosens.

This looks better than the OEM one that was peeling, however, both black top directional covers were scuffed. Since I am selling this car, I am not going to start a return.

Install was simple. The knob is made from aluminum, so it feels much better than the factory plastic knob. Definitely worth the upgrade.Make sure you pick out the factory center trim with the arrows on it so that the new trim is back lit.
