A Gentle But Effective Product for Antique Furniture
I have many years of professional furniture restoration and revival experience but new, clever products are manufactured all the time. I bought this Restor-A-Finish to try out on an inconspicuous area of an 18th century walnut bureau which had been light damaged. Of course, I was anxious not to destroy its antique finish and character of age. I would normally use a mixture of turpentine, oil and meths to clean and a little wood stain if necessary. I am truly astonished at the result which I have now used over the entire surface, following the instructions of wipe on and then wipe clean the surface. It is not a scary dramatic stain at all and the walnut colour I used is true to the lovely aged walnut you would hope for. I reapplied on the paler bleached veneers and they are now perfect. I will leave a while and then apply wax. This is a genuine recommendation and I am sure it will not damage your furniture surface. I did not have water stains on this piece but I can believe it will work without affecting the patina. .

Does the job well
Used this on a 1930s singer sewing machine bent wood case and it came up a treat, also on my grandad’s old alarm clock from late 1800s that came up a treat too Easy to use, wipe on, rub in, wipe off, job done

Good result on Walnut art deco cabinet
After much reading decided to give this a go to spruce up an Art Deco bedside cabinet. The walnut veneer was quite marked and dried out. This acted like a coloured t-cut would on a car finish, removing light scratches and the faded top coat of the finish, also filling in some light damage to the veneer. After application I used the polish from the same company and achieved a good result. Despite using the colour chart and selecting the walnut colour for a walnut veneer, it probably came out a little darker than I expected. Don’t expect it to work miracles where a finish has been completed worn away, but light damage can be masked ok.

Really pleased
Used to tidy up some vintage loudspeakers and really pleased with be result! Very quick and easy to apply - it was a low-effort way to make them look almost new. Would definitely use again. One small bottle goes a long way! I used Feed-n- Wax after which gave a lovely shine.

WOW
Wow! After the builders made a mess of the parquet flooring, renovating my late Dad's house, ready for sale, I never thought I'd get it back to what it was previously. One rin of this and a whole lot of elbow grease later and it's back to it's former glory.

I know this is a good product.
I know this is a good product but regret this did not work for me . Tried on a 1925 Hmv Gramophone oak finish. Quite poor results. I did rub the cabinet down, de -greased & water washed. Of course there may have been other previous products on the cabinet not removed. I can not criticize when i only used it once on one cabinet. The company are very helpful . Slightly difficult to decide what colour to choose

Works a treat
Does what it says on the tin, apparently - I'm partially sighted, but I think my tan is better than with other products I've tried.

Miskoop

Not good result on old walnut kitchen cabinet doors
Tried on the inside of the door and it got sort of a grayish foggy look. Did not use it in the end. Used the wax that we bought at the same time as this one instead and that made a huge difference on the doors.
