I bought this a s a gift but I think the actual mug is plastic. However, they were VERY PLEASED with the mug and how it worked.

Its Plastic, It is not 16.9....Its just over 12oz to the very rim. But its a nice mug....just not for beer

Will a 12oz can fit inside the mug? I don't want to pour into the mug but place the can inside said mug.

The actual 12oz can will not fit in the mugs that I received. If you pour the contents of a 12oz can of beer into the mug, it will fit with just barely enough room to contain the head.
