Great cordless mower
Having just done the first cut of the year (a bit later than I should have done it!) I can honestly say I’m really impressed with this lawn mower. I’ve already bought into the Makita 18v tools so this was an obvious choice for me and I’m still impressed with the build quality of Makita. The mower itself is bigger than I expected, much bigger than my recently deceased Flymo! But it is a fantastic machine, powerful enough to get through long grass (try it on the highest setting if it struggles). The height controls are very easy to use and give a lot of control. As for battery power, I managed both my front and back medium sized lawns twice on one charge (I had to go over it first on the tallest grass setting) with my dual 3ah batteries. I imagine a much larger lawn might struggle, especially if you leave the lawn to grow quite long. But for me it’s perfect. It is a bit heavy so turning can be a bit difficult, there is a smaller version which might be better if you think you might struggle. I for one think it’s well worth it to go cordless. It also folds up really well for storage and stands upright which is a nice change from my last mower. One minor negative is that the assembly instruction left a bit to be desired, it was luckily quite obvious what needed to go where but more detail would have been better.

The best lawn mower... ever
Arrived on time in a very sturdy box! The product has been a pleasure to assemble! No tools no fiddly bits no sharp bits and all of the highest quality! Are use Makita anyway for my work power tools but this is a whole new level of product quality! The design is fantastic, it has carrying handles and everything, it is a simple and straightforward to operate! The height adjustment was fantastic and easy to understand the battery charge gauge is a great feature and the handle is the perfect height and so comfortable with its rubbery foam grip! I’ve just finished cutting the lawn and it did an amazing job and the battery hasn’t even been touched although my lawn is probably only 10 m x 5 m! There was no mess and no flying debris, as I had from my Flymo! And so much easier to use as opposed to sweeping and dragging backwards and forwards of a hover mower!!!!What did The advert say once.... a lot less bother than a hover!!!!!

I can honestly say that this was amazing, the first cut of the season when the ...
I purchased this as needed something lightweight after having petrol mowers in the past. I did not wish to have trailing wires so as I already had several makita power tools with LXT batteries this mower seemed the logical one to buy. I can honestly say that this was amazing, the first cut of the season when the grass was long, it just glided through it, with battery power lasting well over 1/2 an hour, when the job was done it still registered 1 star on the meter so would probably gone on for another 1/4 hour. These were 3ah batteries about 2 1/2 years old, so with new ones I would expect it to last longer. This machine came well packaged and was easy to assemble and got the job done, no trailing wires and no pull start as with petrol ones, probably not the mower if you have a couple of acres, but for the average garden perfect.

Good product battery meter seems to under read the 4 amp batteries
I wanted to give one of these ago for a while our garden is a little to long for a electric mower requiring several extensions but probably a little small for petrol with some tight turns required. I already have some 4 amp lxt batteries for my drill so this was a no brainer when it came up on a good deal.I've only used it once but it's done a great job and very easy to setup. I was a little concerned when the charge meter on the handle said I only had one bar left but I managed to complete the cut without issue. When I checked the batteries they actually had 2 bars left in fact I scarivated the lawn after and gave it a quick go over again just to pick the remaining bits up and it still kept on going. Very happy purchase

I love Cordless....
Really good product. I really, really dislike trailing cables. The more cordless products the better in my opinion. Cable is the work of the devil!! This mower is light and its design has been well thought out - no surprise there as its Makita! It folds down to be compact for storage or transport. It will sit on its rear end stored upright so taking far less space in a shed. It has carrying handles front and rear so is easy to lug around. The two 18v batteries combined give it decent cutting power with durability for a good size lawn. It is NOT intended for long grass moreover as an ordinary garden mower but it more than compares with any Flymo. It has soft start and a good size cuttings bag and I'm well impressed.
