Since my kids are using this they have improve a lot their writing and they even make small drawings on the top when they creat their own stories!

Just what we needed for the kids

The price for these is a bit high when you compare them to other composition books, but it's hard to find ones that have a similar structure to this as well. One went to my 9 year old and the other to my 7 year old. They're able to draw at the top and write on the bottom. Nice wide lines so that they can practice. Very nice quality comp books.

These composition books are primarily used in K & 1st so that the kids have wide lines, not too much space, and a spot for drawing pictures. These are nice and bright. The pages are standard thickness. The books are holding together well so far and working great!

Nice and bright cover colors. Good for younger KG or 1st grade kids who are learning to write as they have wider spacing. My son loved it and enjoys drawing and writing. One thing to note is upper half is blank to draw something and lower half is the ruled lines for writing.

I was very excited to receive these notebooks and then pretty disappointed to open the box and find them like this.

I homeschool my daughter. She's in first grade and learned to write last year. I didn't see it mentioned in the product listing for these composition books, but the ruling on these is on the smaller side for primary ruling. The headline to baseline measures in at 0.5 inches with the dashed midline at 0.25. There is a 0.25 inch gap between the lines and a space for drawing a picture above the lines. When my daughter was first learning to write, we preferred a larger ruled paper with an 7/8" spacing between headline and baseline. This paper is great for kids who already know how to form the letters and are practicing writing them neatly. The paper itself is a decent weight and feels like standard composition notebook paper. Pencil works well on it as well as ballpoint pen. Felt tipped markers did bleed through a little but that happens with most notebook paper I've had. (Maybe I just write too slowly.) In any case, the binding is well sewn and sturdy and the covers are durable cardboard. It's a great pack of notebooks and I'm happy with them.
