Classic
Bought this for childhood nostalgia to read again and it was worth it. Never gets old. Good story that I'm so happy to own, enjoy and eventually read to my nephew once he gets bigger.

My favorite book as a child and now my kids favorite book!
This was one of my two favorite books as a child. I remembered it so well the suspense and deep emotions and themes conveyed and consistency it was really a time travel book more than anything I decided to order it to read to my kids at night for our coming camping trip. It was just as fun to read as I remembered and my kids emitted it so much they even woke up asking for me to continue reading it because they fell asleep too fast the night before. I love that my kids enjoyed it as much as I did and it was a perfect camp fire book for young kids as it's suspenseful but not technically a ghost story. Wonderful characters and vivid imagery making you feel like you too are experiencing going back to a simpler time. Even as an adult I very much enjoyed this book!

AMAZING
This book was one of the best books I have ever read from Mary Downing Hahn. One cool feature about this book is when Drew and Andrew switch places and Drew realized how different it was to live when Andrew did. But in the end when he thought about his old home, he didn't remember much. When Drew started living at his great-aunts house because his parents had work in another state, Drew and his aunt went looking in the attic so his aunt could show him old pictures. While Drew was walking, he broke a floor board and discovered a mysterious box with a bag in it. He thought it was a treasure so his aunt told him to open it. Unfortunately he was disappointed to see a bag of marbles. Then he saw a note it said, " If you take my treasure something bad will happen." So Drew obviously did NOT want to take it but his aunt insisted. That night, a ghost appeared in Drew's room. Drew thought it was a dream.. but he actually could feel the ghost. The ghosts name was Andrew.( a distant relative of Drew) Andrew ( the ghost) was severely sick with Diphtheria. After lots of explaining, Andrew asked Drew if they could switch places (they were IDENTICAL) so Andrew could have modern day medicine.I will leave the rest of this AMAZING book for you to read!! Enjoy!!!! :D

Excellent writing and vocabulary - Time for Andrew
My daughter (5th grade) has read 6 books by the author and really likes them all. Some are more 'ghost' stories and some are less, with this being less on the scary side. All are well written, but this specific book appears to be the best in writing style.

I haven't read a book of hers that I didn't enjoy!
I've been a fan of Ms. Hahn's for several years. I've always loved ghost stories, and this one certainly didn't disappoint me.Although, she writes for children, she manages to write stories that even keeps adults in suspense.I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I highly recommend this book!

Great Scary Book For Kids :)
I truly enjoyed this book. Mary Downing Hahn really engages you with the characters making them seem real. This book was amazing, but the only disappointing part is: I don't think it's that scary! If you are expecting a creepy, spooky ghost story, then this isn't quite your type. I reccomend this book for children aged 8-12. If you get it (which you totally should!:)), I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!! Happy reading!! :)

An amazing page turner written for kids
This was the first book I ever read, in 6th grade. I read other books, of course, with the assistance of teachers, or by the instruction of teachers. This was the first story I ever picked from the school library all by my accord, and made the conscious decision to read. It really was a page turner, inciting very vivid mental images that I can still recall today, over 11 years later. I found it on Amazon and couldn't resist! It says its a "ghost story" but its truly not very scary at all, even for a youngster. It paints such a wonderful picture of life in the past, as the character is transported back in time. Totally recommended for young kids!

Middle school library must have.
My middle schools discovered this author last year and I can’t keep her on the shelf. I have had to buy multiple copies of some books and that is all the evidence I need. This is not my favorite genre, so I haven’t read any of them. However, I will continue to find and add more to our collection.
