Such a great book for children but also, adults. So much great information. My son loves this book!

A Really Short History of Nearly Everything
Brilliant! I got hooked onto this book having found it on a shelf whilst spending an hour in a waiting room. I had to buy one for my 8 year old son who needs encouragement to read. The two of us are going through astro-physics and not only enjoying it but actually understanding it as well. Also to mention, the hardback is far better than the paperback; there are more photos and graphics which make the learning fun and understandable.

A Perfect Book for Inquisitive Children
Although the book was purchase for my grand daughter it has been looked at by the entire family who all agree that is a fascinating read, personally I have previously read Mr. Bryson's books and enjoyed them as an adult, this one is just as good but for Kids.

Ideal for Secondary School
I bought the ‘adult’ version a few years ago and wished I had it when I started secondary school. So I bought this version for my 11 year old granddaughter hoping it will help her through the next stage of her life journey. I’ll review in 7 years!!

Bryson is so addictive...
Loving the big version I bought this to read it to my daughter so to improve her English and satisfy her curiosity about Universe. I just couldn't imagine she would enjoy it so much! Every night she asks me for one more page and gets really upset if we can't find the time to read it. I definitely recommend it.

A good book
i'd enjoyed the grown ups version from which this beautifully illustrated very much abridged version derives. A real eye opener and thought provoker for 9 - 13 years, but anyone older will pick it up and enjoy. Get it - you won't regret it.

The most useful text book of all time
I loved the original, and always wanted a 'primer' to look up the facts I can't keep in my head. And here it is, in glroius colour and great language. When I saw this, I bought 2, intending to give one to one of my twin nephews and the other to my son (well, me, really). When they arrived, I carefully read one and ended up giving the twins one each as they shouldn't have to share this amazing gift. Bill Bryson is my hero now, and this book is a great gift and a fabulous resource.

Bought as a gift
I gifted this to my very smart eight year old nephew at Christmas and he was so engrossed in it on Christmas Day that he had to be asked to stop reading and join the others for Christmas dinner. Says it all really.

Perfect book for a curious kid
I bought this for my 7-year-old daughter. She is an advanced reader and has a strong interest in science, so I thought this would be right up her alley. Was it ever! She's toted "A Really Short History of Nearly Everything" to school every day for the last week so she has it for free reading time. The illustrations and photographs are high-quality and interesting, and the explanations are clear and factual. My daughter has needed to ask the meaning of a few words that are beyond her current vocabulary, but that's a great way to learn them. I see this book getting a lot of use over the next few years. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
