I just use regular sea salt. Typically hatching within a couple of days.

the air stone can help break the bubbles up so it isnt as harsh, and it helps the air dissolve into the water easier.

Q: how and where is the air stone used?

No air stone is needed. Bottom of it opens up, when you first get it , you take off the bottom and attach airline. The airline goes out the hole at the bottom and is attached to the air pump. Water is placed in the tube and brine. I love this. It grows brine for our mandarin fish. It can stay in the reef tank nice and warm and do the job.
