what size is the hand grip?

To me the grip size is 4 1/2". I don't consider the raised area at the top of the grip and bottom of the grip to be part of the grip size.

I’ve been shipped the wrong color twice now. I ordered mod red but I keep getting black, which isn’t even an option. Who can actually help?

What is the advantage to the rough surface?

The surface is not as rough as they make it sound. However, it is rough enough that you can put some spin on the ball which is quite helpful.
