I purchased this as a gift to my boyfriend who had locked himself out of his house twice. He ended up liking it so much that he did not put it outside, but left it inside as a cute little decorative piece. I guess that defeats the purpose of the gift, but it shows how much he liked it. It is heavier than you would expect from such a little piece. It fits in the palm of my hand.

This is a substantial item in weight. It is perfect for hiding a key and for decorating. I am very pleased with the quality of this item.

This is a great little item, and doesn't look at all like something that could be hiding a key. It's quite heavy, and of good quality. It does not have a tight seal, but doesn't really need it because of its weight. The only downside is that it's rather small. It holds my small house keys just fine, but if you have a fairly large key, it may not be large enough.

A very nice little bird ornament that actually is made of metal. One thing to note is that the compartment is a little small and can have trouble fitting some keys

Super cute and well made as a decorationAs a key hider though…The two pieces only fit together. They are not secured. So when a squirrel knocks it over, the key is exposed or in the garden.Don’t recommend as an outdoor key hider

This will work best slightly camouflaged in amongst a plant in a pot, because you can see the lid seam. I think they actually show it that way on Amazon. Right now I just have it on a table on my patio. No key in it at this time.

My daughter bought a new house and I got this so she could hide a key outside (perhaps in a potted plant). The hinge is quite visible so needs to be tucked against something for key hiding. She loved it 😍
