Great speakers. Be aware that left speaker is the powered one though.
I was looking to buy a pair of sleek desk speakers and was deciding between these and the Audio Engine A2. I went for these because the walnut design matched my desk aesthetic. I’m super pleased I did because the build quality is great, they look great and sound great. Be warned though that the powered speaker is the left one so it’s something to be aware of if you’re planning your cable management under your desk depending on where your power sockets are. I had to move the speakers as I initially wanted to right speaker to be the powered one but then my audio was flipped. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of. I’d still definitely recommend them.

Excellent but bass light when compared
I had these for about three weeks (read on!) and they were excellent. The sound quality and particularly the sound staging was fantastic. Set up on my corner desk as far apart as the desk would allow and then angled up slightly, it was very absorbing just listening to different music on these. They are - roughly - about the size of four paperback books stuck together so could fit into most spaces and on my corner desk they did not overtake the space. I bought the angled stands that go with these but they don't angle up enough and so I ended up putting a piece of rubber under that as well so they were directed towards my ears. The only reason I ended up returning these was that I had been after some Bowers & Wilkins MM1s which came up on eBay (as they are no longer available new). I bought the MM1s and then spent more than an unhealthy amount of time comparing them to the YU2s. Initially I thought - 'damn' - as the YU2s sounded a lot better than the MM1s in terms of sound staging - much better in fact. But the MM1s came back strongly on styling, form factor on the small desk and particularly bass. Back to back, some tracks sounded slightly better - or at least different - on the MM1s and some on the YU2s. Bass though was no comparison and the YU2s sounded bass 'non-existent' compared to the MM1s.If I could have kept both YU2s and the MM1s I would have for different types of music but, space, and wanting to just pick one, made me go with the MM1s. If you get the YU2s and then get their small sub then I think you would have a fantastic desk system. You never know, I made do this in the future anyway and put the MM1s somewhere else! Even if you just get the YU2s - and don't compare them to anything else which has some bass - you will still be very, very happy sitting at your desk!

In love -- great sound, stylish, compact size
I’m so in love with these speakers!Size & Style:The size is exactly what I needed to fit my desk setup. Small enough to fit around and between my screens. They’re positioned around a 27” monitor for scale. Wasn’t expecting to find quality speakers that matched my colour theming perfectly either so I’m insanely hyped about the look of these! They’re beautiful in person, well made, stylish and cute, with a beautiful finish.Sound:Great sound. It was pretty much what I expected from a speaker of this price point. It’s not blow-your-mind fantastic, but it sounds pretty damn nice, perfect for your day-to-day desk audio needs. Sure, you can always get better at a higher price point, but if this is what you can afford and you like the look, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I just had a little Ditto speaker before for my gaming needs and the sound that puts out is utterly atrocious (tragic for playing music) and I’d had enough. I’ve been getting back into music lately and rekindling my love of metalcore, mathcore and shoegazey stuff (Rolo Tomassi as a reference), and man, that kind of sound out of low-quality speakers when it’s so detail rich and textured is just a miserable experience. Hearing the music I love not being utterly butchered is a good feeling.Setup:I’ve never set speakers like these up before tbh, I’m usually a headphones for music kind of person, but Ive been wearing my headsets and headphones less and less lately and wanting a way to listen to good quality music outside of my headphones. The instructions in the manual were easy to follow, most of it you didn’t really need a manual for, just common sense, though I did bring up a Yu4 YouTube tutorial for the speaker cables. I’m sure they’re not a dissimilar setup to other similar desk speakers.

Good little speakers but not quite neutral enough
Bought these after being somewhat underwhelmed by the Bose Companion 2 and how they coloured the music with muffled mid-bass. It was suggested on one of the Bose reviews that these would be a better option as they have a neutral. They don't, not quite. I compared them side by side with the Bose and, while clearer, they still have a bit too much low middle-bass (roughly 150hz), which gets a bit tiring when they are two feet away from your ears and you listen to them all day long. Apart from that, and with the 150hz pulled down a notch on my Spotify EQ, they are great little speakers. Excellent sound quality, separation and even soundstage, which is impressive considered the size and the proximity (mine are about 1m apart).

Amazing sound
Amazing sound, I have tried many others speakers, I am using for near field on desktop, the sound is perfect for this scenario,I tried the bigger one yu4, but the bass sounds muddy, and needs equalization, the yu2 on the other hand was projected for this scenario, the projection of the stereo is excellent, and the sound gets centralized, it is great when you have a dac, amp and speakers in one device, that is the case of the yu2The bass is more than enough for me, and if you need more there is a sub outI just felt that overall I really I don't need more than this to listen good music while working on my pcI have tried before, yu4, cheap creative speakers, q acoustic i20

Excellent Value for the Money
I had previously used, and been frustrated with, standard PC speakers in the cheaper end of the range but decided, due to a chnge in my life, that I was going to listen to more music, and I wanted it to sound as it shouldAfter a bit of research I decided on the Kanto YU2 - and was it the right choice? YES in all departments - the sound is so good, and I would recommend them to anyone
