Do the wheels have different tension settings for tile vs. carpet?

I find this should have different tension levels as well. We bought 3, so we have them for different purposes and each household said of the same issue. The toy rolled entirely too quickly for our little guy that's learning to walk. The fun front is great.

Does it need batteries if so what size and how many?

Does it need batteries? How many? Are they included?
